“Good mercado with ample selection of fruits and vegetables. The standout is the butcher which has various cuts of meat that you can't find at Safeway, like diezmillo and arrachera”
“Decided to give this place a try since we were having a family dinner. Called in my order and picked up half an hour later. I didn’t realize the hummus and baba ghanoush were canned so I skipped those. My order was ready when I arrived.
meat was undercooked in the middle and had strong lamb flavor.
Chicken skewers: 5/5 well cooked, flavorful. Not dry.
good!
Rice: generous portions.
They have lots of lavash with the meat.
$62 for 5 koobideh, 2 chicken, 2 rice.”
“Always have great finds for all your Latin American products. Love grabbing all my favorite sweets and the Butcher is clean and has great meat selection! Never had a bad experience”
“I always purchased from Genes Mkt. One day I asked the butcher where they got them from...the rest is history. When you see and enter the shop it's like out of a scene from The Soprano's. They have the glass cases, the refrigerator storeroom in the back, and the processing area to the left. Very minimal, old school. The best. I always place my order ahead of time and they have it ready. Hot or mild, in the casing or bulk. Family run and owned. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will be kicking yourself in the butt for not knowing about them sooner. Oh, by the way, the sausages are delicious !!”
“A truly fantastic place to buy Asian products I was looking to bring something to buy Asian friends that invited me to a party so I had to bring a dish one in there they were totally helpful gave me some advice about it took it to the party and I was the The talk off the party afterwards I would highly recommend this fine grocery chain I believe if I'm not mistaken how to light a misconceptions however I was proving wrong highly recommended”

“Great supermarket with everything I need! The store is clean, well-organized, and the shelves are always fully stocked. I love how fresh the produce is, and the prices are really reasonable too. The staff are friendly and quick to help whenever I can’t find something. Overall, a super convenient place to shop—definitely my go-to supermarket now.”

“Had some amazing Bangladeshi food after a long time. Will suggest them to bring more items! I felt like they are still in some limitation! Rices seemed overpriced!”
“Small store but great prices, I came for Piloncillo and walked around the whole store multiple times before I realized it was up front. Looks like they also had a nice deli section!”

“The ambiance is simple. The food is great and there is a variety of selection of meats. Also, friendly & simple service. Food was good, although i didn't get too eat inside because i was waiting, the food was still good. Will be going back soon & if i have further notes i shall add onto this. Good too know there is a shop like this near the area i am at.”
“They have a great assortment and variety of all the things you need. I highly recommend it. Everyone who works there treats you with great respect and if you have any questions they will gladly help you to know what you need.”
“This is my Friday goat biryani place to go to. Great people with great service. I wish they make the lamb chops again. Last time I came the guy told me they don't make it anymore”
“Check out FreshMeatFactory! This spot is super clean with fresh, tender meat: chicken, goat, seafood—you name it. The staff is chill and helpful. Perfect for your next meat haul! ?”

“Always best place to grab groceries when in a hurry. Slightly disappointed when I asked a question regarding the usage of my EBT card and what I received where mug faces from both cashier's. But still it's a great store.”
“They opened again after a year of hiatus. Convenient place to get fresh and high quality chicken/duck in bay area. The staff was super friendly and willing to get me small stuff (onion/lemon) that is not for sale there. Highly recommend!”
“If you're looking for a halal Middle Eastern grocery store, Baraka Halal Market is one of the top choices in the area. I regularly shop there for meat, chicken, vegetables, fruits, spices, and nuts, and I’ve always been impressed by the quality. Recently, they've expanded their selection to include a wider range of fresh fruits and vegetables. They even carry some unique items like dishes and Chinese, kettles and so on. Their prices are reasonable, and their nuts, especially the walnuts, are delicious. The fruits are consistently fresh and tasty. The store also features a butcher offering a variety of meats, along with different types of cheese and dairy products. The staff, Munir, Homayoon, and two Mohammeds are incredibly welcoming, kind, and always ready to help. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!”
“The tamales are fresh and excellent, so some fresh school and pico de gallo and guacamole and plenty of fresh corn chips available. Of course lots of fresh homemade tortillas.”
“The goat biryani is excellent. I drive all the way from Los Altos to pick it up. Have earned lots of brownie points for giving it to friends who don't want to drive 50 miles round-trip to pick it up.”
“I went to check out Dosirak (Lunch Box), the new menu at Angus. A choice of protein, awesome quality rice, soup, gim and a variety of side dishes were awesome ensemble. I like to give them extra stars for generous portion of Korean style egg omelette roll and pan fried spam - these are essential to an authentic “Korean” lunch box. It was a very satisfying meal in many ways.”
“Family owned business. Pricey but what isnt now in days. Carnitas on a Saturday morning are the best. Dried beef jerky, also thr best. Get it by the pound. Produce is OK.”
“I went in for some tamales and rice/beans. The lady at the counter was very helpful and polite. Chicken tamale was ok, more masa then chicken (for me that's fine) Rice/beans was good.”
“I didn't find what I was looking for but I went to another store...but the store is good, only the parking lot is very full because of the other businesses...”
“Meat is good and they have decent variety of spices and other desi stuff. The new kid at the counter is super nice but one of the staff member is quite rude, some times he deals at the meat area.”

“Newport offers monthly Pop ups to the public. You need to go the this website to see the days and what product is available. You order online and schedule a pick up time on selected days.”
“The best pakistani food in town, owner shaffi is very nice and very kind with his customers, they did not refuse giving us biryani even when we arrived late to his shop”
“They don't have any dock for unloading. Small place entrance is through cars parking lot.
Unload quickly and change lumper. Employees are nice and cooperative. They will unload in front of the building between parking lot and building don't go around the building. There is one truck parking in front at street.”
“The cashier / owner today was the absolute kindest! It was my first time in a Middle Eastern store today (2/10/25) and he was so helpful showing me the best tahini and rice brands, and anything else I needed. Best experience I’ve ever had in a grocery store!
I will definitely be back :)”
“This place is not as bad as other "Yelpers" are making it to be, however this place can use a slight face-lift. It's not necessarily a place to do your full blown shopping. Items that are "popular" to the so called American customers and not so much to the Brown Indigenous (Native American/Mexican,etc) yes those items will obviously be outdated. I mainly go there for the queso fresco Mexicano and purple corn tortilla and at times I get other items that are likely to be in high demand GET IT. For example I won't go to an "Asian" market to look for tortilla or Tapatio hot sauce WHY because I know at that particular store it's not in HIGH DEMAND!!!!”
“You have to go to buy some snacks here, 1.99 for a bag of chips and less than 1.99 for a popsicle. Alright service, good price for regular things, they never restock. I live near and it's perfect.”
