“Today I went in with the soul purpose of buying the Sprouts brand honey ham from the deli for my lunches. I like my ham shaved and I wanted a pound to last me a week for my lunches. After waiting 10 minutes to be noticed at the deli counter, a woman came to help me. When I asked for what I wanted another older lady told her that they could not slice that ham for me. So the girl that was helping me showed me to a shelf where they pre slice and package the ham and said i could buy that but not get the amount I wanted and that they don't shave the pre-sliced ham so I would have to have the normal cut. I told her I had just gotten this ham shaved for me last week and the guy did it without hesitation. The Ham is, after all, on display at the deli counter. She said some people do it but she would not. So I decided i would just get the pre sliced ham because I needed it. After checking what they had on the shelf, ai noticed that all of the ham expired in 2 days and were all only a quarter of a pound. I wasn't going to buy that and decided I would just go across the street to ralphs and get ham shaved the way l like it and fresh. On my way out i asked for a manager to let him know how his deli staff had acted and that I had no options because I wasn't going ti buy a product that is about to expire. I wasn't looking for anything to be free. And I was nice about it. I just thought he should know. He was immediately upset with hearing what had happened and said that was unacceptable and that there is no rule that they cannot slice the meat for me. The deli staff was just being lazy. He went and got me my ham at no charge. That was amazing customer service by the assistant store manager!! I was not planning on returning but he has made it so I will give them a second chance. The 5 stars is for the assistant manager and the cashier who told me she was glad I said something because they have been getting a lot of complaints about their deli staff. Here's to hoping the deli will stop embarrassing the store and fix their attitude and customer service skills”
