“walked in thinking it’d be a quick stop for one gift but ended up spending almost an hour in the cozy back corners. the staff member near the poetry section noticed I was lost and actually asked what I was looking for instead of just nodding past me which was a nice change. found this amazing collection of poetry books I wouldnt have seen in a big store its definately my new spot for grabbing gifts for freinds. the place has an open, quiet energy that just feels different than other stores, kind of like everyone inside is on the same wavelength. didn't get rushed out even when they were busy which is rare these days. grabbed a couple things for myself to because they had a small display of local journals and I couldn’t resist the hand drawn cover im a sucker for that kind of detail. I will absolutly be coming back next time im in town”

“Very cute bookstore with occasional different exhibition. Great news are lots of them come at free entrance so certainly worth exploring when in the area. If you’re into art, the collection they sell are plentiful as well. If you’re just a passer-bys like me, they sell cute cards and stickers. Pricing wise is similar to typical bookstores.”
“Book Alley has a great selection of art and architecture books, a nice collection of first editions and truly enticing bargain racks outside, where I found my $2 copy of Barbara Tuchman’s The March of Folly what a score especially to read in 2026 AHEM. Very friendly staff as well but they need to make some tote bags to sell!!!”

“I would 100000% give 5 stars to STEPHANIE SHE IS AMAZING. Goes above and beyond and is so sweet cannot speak highly enough of her. Why I rated 4 stars … the rest of the staff … jeez.. Prindell, relax and watch your tone dude. What is your actual problem. Also doesn’t know how long his lunch break is when I asked to speak to someone to praise them he was very dismissive and rather rude. Horrible energy, made me want to leave immediately. Get a new job if you don’t like it there! anyways Stephanie CARRIES that whole team on her back she is outstanding.”

“Kinokuniya in Santa Anita mall is a great location to shop for Japanese manga, books, stationary, and most importantly Smiskis and Sonny Angels! I got a Smiski Toothbrush Holder for only $16.95. Prices are not marked up. Staff were very attentive and nice! Would come back for sure”

“I used my class CRN code to order my textbook through the bookstore website . The book and code came in the mail but when I tried to register the code it didnt work. I went to the bookstore and spoke with the manager and he told me that they have been having issues with the MCgraw codes. He gave me a full refund and was very polite. If you have to order a code for a textbook ask your professor if they can provide a direct link to purchase it through the company.”

“Thank you for Dr John Pham for his great job. I appreciated him and his team. They are very friendly and helpful. Dr Pham is a professional dentist and takes good care of his patients. I found him online and read his reviews. I thought I would visit a few dentists to compare the price. However I decided to use him at my first visit because he explained clearly and gave me more information about my tooth implant. During the whole procedure, he payed his attention and let me know what was doing to my tooth. Today I was very happy to get my tooth implant done and my teeth cleaning too. I needed to pay an extra $100 to my previous dentist due to coffee stain but Dr Pham didn't charge me after he checked how bad of my coffee stain. I never had this kind good service before. I definitely will recommend him to my family and friends.”

“Well-curated collection of rare books in top condition, everything I pulled off the shelf was clean with really well preserved spines and pages even though many are vintage first editions. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in the quality of their books. They also have an exciting selection of signed books.
There's a big emphasis on history and culture but you can also find mystery, fantasy, and science fiction as well as a large selection of general fiction.
The shop is quiet with tall, narrow aisles to maximize space, making it a peaceful place to browse.”
“I was looking for some children’s Chinese books for my daughter who is learning Mandarin. They had plenty to choose from plus more if you are fluent in reading Chinese. I recommend just walking around this store to look at all the interesting books they have.”

“Store of Books & Gifts is a small independent bookstore tucked into a strip mall in valley and I found it by chance while driving around. They have a surprisingly well curated selection of local poetry, used vinyl, and artisan stationery. The owner gave me recommendations for authors from Asia and even chatted about upcoming in-store events. I bought a rare paperback poetry anthology and a hand-made journal; both were priced fairly. The shop is modestly lit, but feels intimate and inviting. I’ll definitely stop by again when I’m in the area.”
