Had one of 4 catalytic converters stolen on my 2004 Chevy Silverado. After my mechanic made the repairs took it to Power Muffler at my mechanics recommendation and they welded several loops on each converter and then ran wires around the converters and the frame for $750.

Went to this shop thinking I needed a cat converter. They checked the system and recommended trying a after converter sensor. It fixed the problem to pass my smog.
