“Beautiful Venue! I attended a wedding here with my wife a couple weeks ago and the venue and grounds were amazing. You feel like you are in the middle of no where but are in the middle of a neighborhood. Lots of rules to follow but they staff makes up for it. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the venue was stunning.”

“This place is fantastic! I had No idea something like this even existed. Once I found out I had to go. I’m so glad that I did. It was a blast. Not only can you throw axes. But you can also throw knives. At points I was throwing a knife with my right hand and an axe with my left. Or vice versa. Sometimes I threw with both arms at the same time. Look I’m no pro. This was my first time doing this. What’s great is that they also teach you how to throw the knives and axes. Plus they have great music and the staff is also great. Very helpful. If you’ve never done this before you have to at least try it. I told one of my friends and he literally said, “wait, what? WHERE? We’re going again soon.”

“Visited Bancroft Garden on June 25th and was pleasantly surprised. The weather was mild, and I had about an hour to wander through this small neighborhood garden.

The desert plant collection is the highlight — a really interesting variety of cacti and succulents, including several species and flowers I’d never seen before. Some were in bloom, which made the visit especially rewarding. The garden is compact but thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to enjoy without feeling rushed.

The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added to the experience.”

“It was a joy to have our wedding at the Gardens at Heather Farm!! The venue was absolutely gorgeous. Jenna was a great pleasure to work with -- she always responded promptly to my emails and questions, and she was so supportive and patient throughout the whole process. “Per the setup at the first event I'd attended there (Camp Kamala), venue had plenty of space for multiple tables, a stage at one end, buffet & drink station at the other end, and multiple accessible restrooms along one side. Venue is ADA accessible & is right near #12 AC Transit stops, Amtrak & a short walk to the Ferry at Jack London Square. It's a short bus ride to/from the 12th Street BART Station, and there's some street parking, as well as Parking Lots nearby. It's literally a block over from the Amtrak station. (I was tempted to take an Amtrak to the Richmond Station, even though it would cost more than taking a bus to BART, because I enjoy chilling on an Amtrak train. If a train already at the station hadn't been "last call" while I waited for the #12, I probably would've gotten a ticket for the next one, but I just wanted to get home & nap. heh heh)

During the event, I happened to sit in a seat smack dab below an air vent, so I was a bit cold the whole day. But if you know someone who always runs hot, maybe they would love to sit in that exact same spot. I'm sure the event space is also versatile enough to make sure tables aren't or are under an air vent, depending on your needs.

The outside is a bit industrial, but hip. This event space would definitely be great for office parties, launch events, etc.”

“This review is for the tennis club. Very nice set up. The club is built into the side of a hill with a raised viewing gallery and bar to watch matches below. The courts are in great shape!”

“Love coming here with the kids. Cheap on Wednesdays. Tons of memories and great games. A valuable part of the community. Since we live near there, we go there fairly often, and it has never disappointed us. Staff are friendly, and games change occasionally. Kids love it so much my oldest daughter took her friend there and she had a blast. Great for family.”

“Scene was the perfect spot for my daughter’s Sweet 16! There was plenty of parking, and the space was super roomy with tables and chairs already provided. The little kitchen and three bathrooms were great too! Working with Toby was super easy. He was so responsive and accommodating. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. I’d definitely book this place again! Highly recommend!”

“We did a tour of Redwood Canyon with Jacoby and absolutely loved her. After scheduling, she reached out to confirm the appointment and gave helpful directions. At the appointment itself, she was a wealth of knowledge and struck the right balance between sharing information and giving us time to take in the space.

While we ended up chosing another venue due to availability of dates, I absolutely would have loved working with Jacoby. She came across as passionate about celebrating love and highly capable. You're in good hands working with her!”

The lodge tour was wonderful!!! What a cool lodge building.
They are a block from Main Street Alameda, lots of different food choices.
Try Signal coffee, you will understand how a small shop does coffee better than next door Peet’s or Starbucks.”

“We recently had my daughter's 16th birthday party here at Pinot Pallette. It was Soo great! Will did an AMAZING job as the art instructor with his funny banter with the teen girls and his phenomenal art expertise. Each girl was Soo focused and Soo pleased with how each of their individual canvas paintings turned out. This was the Perfect birthday celebration for my daughter's Sweet 16! Thank you Soo much to Anna (owner) for her guidance on scheduling everything. Highly recommended!”

“Wonderful wine shop with a HUGE selection of reasonably priced wines, as well as a few $$$. The proprietor and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I ducked in to grab a bottle and asked for a French in the $30-50 range was was pleasantly surprised when they recommended a $32 bottle instead of a $48 bottle. Way to make a sale and get a fan for life! They also do tastings, at least on the Friday I was there. I can't wait to go back and explore their selection more.”

“Having our wedding at Shadelands Historical Ranch and Museum was amazing. The venue itself is gorgeous, with incredible colors from the emerald lawn and giant trees to the explosion of roses around the gazebo! Our wedding was in May and all the flowers were in bloom, it was like a page from a storybook with hummingbirds and butterflies out and about enjoying the day too. Our guests kept raving about how beautiful and picturesque it was.

Christine and Jackie made it a very stress-free experience. We had a morning wedding with a group of about 80 guests, along with a buffet table, mobile barista, DJ and sound system, and plenty of room for our three photographers to easily maneuver to get their shots. (Will update later with some professional photos when those arrive!) The venue provides chairs and various sizes of tables all arranged to your liking, we requested that the lawn seating be set up for the ceremony and for the tables to be set up around the edge of the patio area and they had everything set up exactly how we envisioned, so all we had to do was come in and decorate. Event insurance is required, along with multiple contacts on hand. Contract and rates are very straightforward. While the magnificent trees cover a large portion of the grassy area, would recommend bringing your own canopies with weights if you plan to set up tables within the paved area. Overall a grand experience with the venue and welcoming staff.”

“This venue was perfect for what we wanted! We wanted a small wedding of 50 guests and I was looking for a place with some scenery and not just a boring hall that needed a lot to look beautiful. We were on a small budget so we also needed something at a reasonable price. This place hit all that and more. All of our guests loved the venue and it helped that it was a beautiful sunny day. The garden area made for a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and great for photos. The lake was beautiful with all the ducks swimming around. I loved everything about this venue and definitely recommend it if you are having a small wedding.”

“This is a great co working space! I like coming in here mid morning for an espresso and then settling into my work, very chill and very relaxing environment. Staff is competent and friendly. “I had my wedding here at Fairview Metropolitan and it was the MOST AMAZING DAY EVER! For starters Angela Muse helped us from start to finish on planning our day and every little detail in between! She was amazing to work with, she was clear, communicative, friendly and organized which is everything you want when you are planning your wedding! When I arrived at my reception I was blown away by the decor and how beautiful every detail was! Thank you so much Angela for all of your hard work and support in making my dream reception!!!

The vendors that are connected to Fairview that I opted into having was DJ Keel and Ting at Montclair Florist. DJ Keel was a phenomenal MC and met with us ahead of time to get an idea of how we wanted our wedding MC'd as well as what we wanted our music to be like and let me tell you he achieved it!!! My guests were laughing, entertained and raving about the music all night! Thank you Dj Keel!

I coordinated with Ting from Montclair Florist and although we did not talk much I have to say my bouquet and center pieces were the most beautiful flower arrangements I have ever seen! The flowers were stunning and she ran with the ideas I had and made it the most beautiful arrangement ever!!

My guests were raving about the food and we were so supported by KeeKee our Banquet Manager! She checked in on us and made sure we were good throughout our reception!

“I enjoyed every single minute of the gallery artist work.Altho it's in a close space, they did a gr8 job overall. I believe art is about texture n the correct line that the inner of the art, should bring out the artwork from the middle outwards..Jus that's me anyways.I always carry some sugar n honey when I go to places that I never been b4. N in return, I get treated with highly gr8 respect n understanding of the nature.Respect goes a long way.”

“This is a fantastic show if you are into Edgar Allan Poe or even just fancy cocktails. The drinks coordinate with the poems/stories in the show. The actors are amazing. Perfect opportunity to show off your fancy cocktail attire as well.”

“Lots of different themed toy sections for kids to play. Not a huge space but enough to play in each themed section. Workers were nice and they regularly made the rounds to put toys back into their themed section so toys won't be missing for it (ie doctor toys for the doctor office area)Great add to the Castro Valley community”

“The owner is always hospitable I usually go to Taava kitchen. Today I was on my way to the beauty supply....on a quest for food before heading back home. I followed the sound of the live DJ and was pleased to find it was coming from a place I get food from a bit regularly.Chef Alreca's food is delicious! “The wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary and renewed our vows with the help of Amanda and her team at the Overlook! The event was beautiful and amazing! We utilized the garden space and pond then transitioned our guest to the covered patio area thereafter. It was a beautiful July afternoon and photos we absolutely gorgeous given the stunning layout! The celebration was stress free for us, as Amanda and her team seamlessly coordinated with the vendors ensuring our ability to enjoy our guests and the celebration! “When we initially toured this venue, it checked of all of our boxes for what we were looking for in a venue. We really appreciated the layout and how it wasn’t the typical ballroom ceremony/ reception environment. It was more of a whimsical outdoor garden vibe, which we loved! There were different areas in the venue where guests can hang out and explore and it wasn’t strictly just the dance floor.

The only challenges we had with Wildwood were some of the communication with Lien (owner). Some things were unclear at times and it was very difficult to get outside vendors approved. Her preferred DJ abruptly quit on us a month before our wedding and she was really pushing on having us book her other preferred DJ, who we were not very interested after talking to him. We understand the precaution of wanting professional vendors on site, but the process of even getting professional outside vendors wasn’t very smooth.

However, Dan and Lien (owners) did rise to the occasion when our wedding coordinator failed to show up at our rehearsal. Dan confidently and clearly led the rehearsal and he was so kind and patient to us and our wedding party, especially when we were feeling pretty stressed with the wedding coordinator not showing up. The wedding coordinator was supposed to collect our items (favors, programs, etc) to set up for the next day, and Dan and Lien were very kind and let us store them in the clubhouse that night, which is typically is not allowed, so we appreciated them accommodating us with that!

Their staff on the day of was also amazing! They all looked pretty young, but they were so professional and kind. Our guests also loved the dog!”
