“Jen, Scott, and the entire family at Lovely Day hosted our birthday party — and it was unforgettable. From the delicious food and drink, to the warm welcome they extended to our guests, to the beautiful venue (inside and out), they made our evening magical. They are experienced, gracious, and superb professionals, who bring elegance and excellence to an event. Our guests continue to tell us how memorable the event was, and how gracious the staff was. Thank you for a wonderful memory.Vegetarian options: Caesar salad!”

“We just got through holding our high school reunion there on Sept. 23 and can't say enough good things about Deja, Director of Weddings & Events as well as the staff that decorated tables, served the food and drinks! We met with Deja several times over the year in which we were planning and she was very helpful in making the reunion a success. I and all of the members of the reunion planning committee have attended some other events held there and everyone was a joy in part because of the friendly staff that prepare wonderful meals and serve great drinks! Which is why we chose them for our reunion and certainly would use them again!”
“We look forward to our regular visits. The service is outstanding and everyone is so friendly. Wines are awesome and the small plates are a nice compliment to the wines. Highly recommend.”
“I love this little bar, it's hidden on the side of some corporate building but has such cozy vibes. I wish I knew of it sooner. I got 2 cocktails although not gonna lie I can't remember the names but they were both super tasty. Everyone in my group loved their drinks. The bartender was so friendly too. We also got their empanadas and honestly kind of fire. It was the perfect after work drink type of bar.”

The location was convenient, the building had a good vibe and we had everything we needed for a productive meeting. I'm glad to have such a good option available for my business and I'd be comfortable bringing clients there as well.”

To Order Food You Walk Up To The Bar Straight In The Middle Of The Patio & You Get A Chance To Look At Their Menu Or Whatever Vendor They Are Working With At The Moment. I Spoke With Who Im Thinking Is The Owner. Didn't Get His Name But Guy Was Very Friendly, Professional & If You Need Any Food Recommendations From The Menus He Got You! He Recommended I Get Their "Noodle Belly $20. Not Too Expensive As Long As The Flavors There. Comes With Garlic Noodles Your Choice Of Protein & A Vegetable. I Ordered The Broccolini With Shrimp! Belive Me Flavors Were Definitely There! The Patio Has Three Large Screen TVs So You Can Eat And Wacth Whatever Is Happening At The Time. Today They Had The UFC Fight And Summer Slam! Nice. “The wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary and renewed our vows with the help of Amanda and her team at the Overlook! The event was beautiful and amazing! We utilized the garden space and pond then transitioned our guest to the covered patio area thereafter. It was a beautiful July afternoon and photos we absolutely gorgeous given the stunning layout! The celebration was stress free for us, as Amanda and her team seamlessly coordinated with the vendors ensuring our ability to enjoy our guests and the celebration! We highly recommend you explore this venue and ask for Amanda Scimia, she’ll take great care of you!”

Temescal Regional Recreation Area, 6500 Broadway, Oakland“This venue was perfect for what we wanted! We wanted a small wedding of 50 guests and I was looking for a place with some scenery and not just a boring hall that needed a lot to look beautiful. We were on a small budget so we also needed something at a reasonable price. This place hit all that and more. All of our guests loved the venue and it helped that it was a beautiful sunny day. The garden area made for a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and great for photos. The lake was beautiful with all the ducks swimming around. I loved everything about this venue and definitely recommend it if you are having a small wedding.”
“The quality and variety of what these guys do is amazing. The space itself is modern and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. But the stars of the show are, of course, the wines. There are some familiar varietals, interesting blends, and the occasional "I'm sorry, how is that pronounced again?" newfound gems too. Highly recommend for anyone who can visit regardless of where they are on their wine appreciation journey.”
“Accessible entry & clean building! Absolutely beautiful piece of Oakland history kept alive & functional. Used as office space & professional events.”
“Absolutely loved Torch the Venue! The rooftop is fantastic, providing a great atmosphere. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. The venue itself is spotless, adding to the overall positive experience. Attended a holiday party, and the Glam Photo Booth was a delightful touch that truly elevated the festivities. Definitely a 5-star experience!”
“This stunning, hidden gem is really the perfect place to host your (smaller) party in Oakland! The room was just right for our 90 guests at my daughter's bat mitzvah, with a glorious sun set over Lake Merritt as we danced up a storm! Highly recommended. Byron and Candi are great to work with, also.”

1255 7th St, Oakland“This place is a sweet little Gem! Definitely go when there’s an outdoor party in the backyard. Like Disco Dountz for EDM (w/ their family friendly gigs.) I wish I had the cool parents to take me here when I was little! People dress up, adults have fun, dodge the occasional tricycle, and it’s a dj’d outdoor playground for all! Parking nearby is cool too. It’s a noon-8 scene.”
“Rented Warehouse416 for my parents surprise 70th birthday party this last weekend. Such an amazing spot. Christine was very kind and patient with our indecisiveness in the setup and let us move things around as needed and to our liking. I really enjoyed the party and this space! I highly recommend.”
“We had my brother in laws birthday party there it was awesome. The food was great and the atmosphere was really nice. The staff was fantastic and the birthday party was a huge success and everyone had a great time!”
“The new management of this venue has eliminated the bad element and changed the environment completely. I love the new chill lounge environment. I recommend trying this place out.”
“Attended the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy event this past weekend and thought the venue worked perfectly for this theatrical experience. Though the outside does not look like much, the inside of the ballroom is characterized by ornate patterns on the walls and around the stage, and unique light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. Not a whole lot to be impressed by, as it still looks quite plain and simple overall, sort of like an ordinary conference room. But I guess that's what makes Oakstop special, that it's multi-use. It was fitting for the event I attended, and they set up the seating, decor and lighting just fine. It wouldn't be my first choice for a wedding or other celebratory event though.”
“Edit: Opportunities for sliding scale and time trade are now being offered for events! Ask your event coordinator to be sure as it's still dependent on each event to adopt this offering.----------Decent venue structurally: sound is good and floors are nice. Yet for a community space in OAKLAND the prices aren't very reflective of the capitalized oppression of those less privileged in the surrounding neighborhood. I have asked multiple times about sliding scales, or pricing options for those less monetarily advantaged. There has been no response or apparent consideration of these marginalized people who need community and a space much more than anyone who currently "supports" the space with fiat currency. ?I hope this may spark a review of the monetary practices employed and culminate in more choices to allow everyone the opportunity to participate.”

1721 Broadway #201, Oakland“I’ve been here a few times for various functions and am grateful for this venue in providing a gathering place to host events. Parking can be tricky. BART is a great option since it’s downtown stop is just steps away. It’s no fault to the building; downtown Oakland doesn’t allow for venues to keep doors open to the streets so it can get somewhat stifling without fresh air flow.”

5335 College Ave, Oakland“We stumbled in here on a whim and it's become one of our favorite spots. It's very relaxing, calm inside and cozy little parklet outside. The service is really good, the servers are all really sweet and attentive. Now for the food, definitely worth the 5 stars! They have a lot of veggie options which is really nice, the avo-kyo roll is my favorite! The hand rolls and classics are all really good, lots of great flavor combos. The fish is very fresh and so flavorful! Definitely worth a stop in if you're looking for a chill night with great food!”

“Exceeded my expectation my miles. The rooms and puzzles are very high quality and really well thought out. The staff is super friendly and supportive. I took my 11 year old son and his friend—they loved it and wanted to do another room right away.”
