“A charming, luxe hotel with fantastic staff and great amenities. Thoughtful decoration, great water view (even from bed, through a well-placed glass panel in the deck), wet bar, fireplace, and a super comfy memory foam mattress on the bed. There is a bay-facing breezeway with chairs behind a windshield for taking in the view of the rock on blustery days. Distant sea otter views from the breezeway was a huge plus :) I had an awesome night’s sleep although noise from one adjacent room was a little bit of an issue at one point (I think I had unusually odd neighbors though). Moira and all staff were accommodating to requests and happy to answer questions about the area. They also have a good sister property nearby for which they’re happy to help make reservations (though I ultimately preferred Estero!)”

“We enjoy the inn very much. Nice location friendly owners! We just visited for our anniversary. Our silver anniversary, 25 years! I love thé set up and I love the location. It's quiet generally and it's right on the water looking out at boats and people watching. The kitchen has most things needed pots, pans, dishes utensils coffee maker etc. We love to cook and have meals out on the deck while watching the water and the sailboats. There is a kayak/boat rental next door and we enjoyed taking a kayak out also. We road our bikes and we were able to keep them on the deck. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Great spot for a 7 night stay away from the stress of our jobs. It's like going to a second home. The bed is super cozy and the couch is a pull out also. Couch although a pull out very comfy. We walked and purchased lobster tails and had a romantic evening on the deck. The inn is a smaller one, meaning, only 4 rooms/apartments, but it doesn't lack charm. There are plenty of towels blankets pillows and well privacy. We have gone to this location several times and it does not disappoint! Thank you Grays Inn for yet another wonderful anniversary, we will be back.”

“This was our 3rd stay and each has been fabulous. The Morro Strand room (Queen bed with fireplace) is my favorite so far. If you are looking for a cozy, inviting place to stay, Beach Bungalows is the place. The personal touches, such as a call to confirm check-in time; detailed self-check-in procedure; and delicious breakfast made to order and delivered to the room all add to the ambiance. Staff members are friendly, kind and helpful, but allow guests their privacy. The motel is centrally located; everything is walkable from there. Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites is our go-to place in Morro Bay. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!”

Beds are super comfy and soft pillows. The bathroom is beautiful and the shower was hot.Walkability: You can walk anywhere in a matter of minutes to enjoy all the amenities of Morro Bay. “Great stay for our first time in Morro Bay. Ann and her family have a classic beachside motel that was very clean, comfy, well-kept and visually appealing. The room wasn't 'modern' yet had everything we needed... coffeemaker, fridge, decent bed, luxe towels and a nice bathroom with a fully-tiled shower. The sailing-themed wall mural was retro-cool, and the nicely-finished open-beam ceiling was a plus. Ann was so nice and fun to interact with, even while she was working hard cleaning the rooms and getting them ready for the arriving guests. Her work ethic and family pride are evident, and we'll stay here again for sure. Thanks, Ann!!!”

“Came up to Morro Bay for a work trip. Last minute we switched hotels to the Best Western and Garret was more than helpful to accept the state rate and two rooms. What a great staff. I would highly recommend. Garret should be promoted to manager!!”

“This is a great place to stay: our room was very clean, with a comfortable king bed, mini fridge, nice bathroom, very central location with a nice view of the Morro rock. We had a super relaxing stay for a good price and the owner was extremely friendly, as he even accommodated a last minute change of dates for our stay due to illness without any additional charge. We will be back!”

“I need to say that both the checkin and the checkout experience was very friendly! :) the toilet had this „clean and sanitized“ paper thing on it but actualöy was really dirty all around… like also outside full of yellow splashes - disgusting!”

“Great low prices don’t line up with level of service, in a good way. They went above and beyond to accommodate my late check-in and questions after I arrived. Simple accommodations, but well worth it. They even allowed me to pull my bike into the courtyard.”

“This hotel is in a perfect location to walk the 2 blocks to the downtown area of Morro Bay. The view from our room of the bay and rock was perfect. Hotel was clean and room was a nice size with a patio door and small balcony.”

“Fairly nice spot, super close to the beach and food. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on for a budget hotel. I will absolutely be back. My only real ding is the parking lot is really small, and if you've got a bigger rig, it ain't gonna be fun.For management- you may want to invest in some chains for the door. We ended up putting the bench in front of it.”

“Absolutely beautiful location with really friendly and helpful staff! The room did not have AC which was a little difficult, even though it was winter time. And just a few other things in the room need to be kept up better before they fall apart.Aside from that, it is such a quaint place to stay, with a pool and hot tub! It’s a nice walk to downtown (about 30 minutes) and the view from the bay side rooms is gorgeous!! The staff was very friendly, and they had complementary lemon cucumber water in the lobby!”

“Quaint and nice motel, love the beach themed rooms and bright colors. Location is excellent only 2 blocks from the Embarcadero. Good restaurants within walking distance. Pet friendly. Would definitely stay here again!”

“The managers were very nice and helped me when my room was booked incorrectly over the phone. This was a life saver for me being a long way from home at 5pm in the evening!! The room was clean and nice, and not too far from the car. Everything worked out great! Morro Bay is a nice place to visit and this Motel 6 is a good value.”

“The room is clean, the people at the front desk were very kind, the location is great, and it's no frills.. simple.. so if you're into that like I am, this place is perfect for you! It's a great place to sleep for a weekender trip. The price is also very reasonable and a good value for what you get! It's not too obnoxiously modern and has a subtle charm to it. A good disclaimer is that they don't allow pets, so for anyone looking to bring their pups, you should probably look elsewhere. The upside of this is that, as a person who has some temperamental allergies, I didn't feel like the air had any sort of dog dander or even dirt or sand! I rate this place five stars because I like to be fair with my reviews and this place has a lot of the bare essentials perfectly done! Don't expect Hyatt Regency or Ritz Carlton, obviously, and you should be pleased! Have a great trip :)”

“My second stay at Ascot Suites was borderline awful. Upon entering my room after check-in, I found that my bed hadn't been made up and didn't have bedsheets. There were also no towels — I had to request them three times over many hours before someone bothered to bring them up.To add insult to injury, I was locked out of my room on my second night late in the evening because my room key stopped working. (It turns out Ascot Suites only had me in the system for 1 night, although I'd registered for 2 nights.)Because there is no employee manning the desk overnight, because the buzzer at the entrance was broken, and because my cell phone was back in my room, it took me more than two hours to find someone who would actually help me — an employee from ANOTHER hotel down the road — who was kind enough to walk back with me to Ascot Suites and use THEIR cell phone to call Ascot Suites' afterhours number. It's a real shame. I loved my first stay here, but my second, recent stay now makes me to want to explore other hotels in the area when I visit next time. Please do better, folks.”
