“We met up with 2 other couples for a 2 night getaway in SLO. It’s a charming well appointed boutique hotel. Our room #4 was small but with upscale details. Minor negative: there is no closet just a couple of hangers in front of a mirror. The first night we did hear water noises in the middle of the night in the wall near our headboard. The good news was that it did not repeat the next night. Our friend’s rooms were slightly larger and they did not have any noise issues. The hotel manager was friendly and accommodating. The complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival was a nice touch. We visited the onsite bar for pre dinner drinks which was cozy and the bartender was knowledgeable and business like. Afterwards we had dinner in the restaurant. We brought our own bottles and corkage was reasonable. We also ordered several appetizers of which only the roasted Brussels sprouts was a standout that I remember. I had the hamburger as a main and it was delicious. Service and food prep were excellent. We enjoyed the upstairs lounge with the continental breakfast. WiFi reception was spotty up there though.Parking can be challenging if you want to park behind the hotel. It seemed like there was only 6” of clearance for our wheels on either side of the car when driving down the narrow driveway. We definitely would go back. We all had a great time.Noteworthy details: Nice details showing a wonderful design aesthetic.”

“Another wonderful stay at the San Luis Creek Lodge! Everything from the giant shower with Aesop soap, shampoo, & conditioner, to the daydreamy cloud of pillows, tip top linens, to the sweet pastries and coffee, made this the best trip. Kindest, warm, & friendly staff!”

“we found the hotel to be clean, and the service to be excellent, rooms were nice, front desk was very courteous, my mom who has many medical issues, was not feeling well and we asked to check out 1 day early and they said absolutely no problem. Most hotels would give you a hard time the gentleman at the front desk, think his name was Matthew (possibly) was very kind and understanding and credited the last day in full.”

“Great location.... Easy in easy out.... We had a U-Haul trailer and they accommodated us.....The place looked like the photos but more aged in real life....... Very clean property..... They had a nice Continental breakfast with fresh fruit like watermelon.... cantaloupe....fresh oatmeal with all kinds of toppings, hard boiled eggs... different breads and but butters.......juices and pastries that were all fresh not packaged...good coffee with half n half and other flavored creamers....... Super sweet staff.....we had a double bed room...the beds were super hard... I didn't like that.... A foam topper would've been nice so I dug mine out of my U-Haul and used it......We were there for 2 nights.....small room but it stayed warmer that way. No microwave in the room but one in the office lobby area...... There's a small ice machine in there too which they ask to not use for a big ice chest.....not walkable but very close to shops and restaurants by car ...only like 10 minutes.....we are at the Firestone Grill and they gave so much in a serving i was amazed and all the food looks just like the online photos.,... Killer onion rings.”

“Came to SLO for my wife’s birthday and couldn’t have been happier with our decision to stay at The Butler Hotel. This was a new type of stay for us as there is no front desk, however once we walked in we immediately understood that this property was special and didn’t require one. They email and text you the code to the front fore and the code to your room. Upon walking in we were shocked at how nice everything looked and the attention to detail with the design. There was a bottle of wine and local treats on the bar, and cute little reading/sitting area, and the interior design was amazing. As for the room, we loved the tall ceilings, lighting, and bathroom design. Everything just seemed to flow well.I would definitely recommend this place!”

“cons--parking tight for big vehicles, no room phone, no Bible, no fart fan in bath, no HBO that I could find. That's it and who cares. this old school motel is exactly the experience we were looking for and will come back. FYI the money you save on a $75/night take a walk to 1865 restaurant a block down the street”

“I am picky. I came upon Petit Soleil searching for a quaint Inn. My primary one was sold out. I am flabbergasted with the hospitality, the details and the care of the staff here at this hidden jewel. We were 100% comfortable, safe and completely felt like home. I think they've trumped my primary. Yes for Petit Soleil!Dante is a pure angel and can run an Inn like nobody's business. The owners should feel so lucky to have him. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I'll be back very soon.”

“Great, newly renovated motel in a stellar location.A stones throw away from the Madonna Inn at a fraction of the cost. Friendly and professional staff. Great pool and hot tub.Centrally located close to amenities like Starbucks and Ralph’s.”

“Love the Heritage Inn. My second time staying here and it's a different experience each time. Stayed in the Mountain View Room this time. Learned from a local outside the Inn that the peak we see from our Mountain View room balcony is Cerro peak, one of the 'nine sister's' ancient volcano cores. Love the garden and stream behind the Inn for my boys to explore. Gloria taught us about the butterfly plant and caterpillars. It's a place to escape your device's and enjoy history and nature.”

“I was surprised with this hotel, simple rooms but clean, great bed and shower, also quiet. I normally I stay on 4-5 star hotels chains but is great for a pass by during a trip of pacific road.”

“This place is great. Surpassed expectations! It's a studio vibe that had everything my family of four needed. A kitchen area with refrigerator, mini stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, beds, table, TV, dresser, sitting area, good sized bathroom, spacious closet and lots of storage space with all kitchen utensils included. There were wooden floors as well as nice carpet, which made the room even nicer. Great place to stop on our way up north. Restaurants and stores located down the street. Totally recommend!”

“The gentleman Stefan (spelling?) at the front WAS THE BEST PART OF THE STAY. He is the kind of human than helps you still believe there is good left in the world. He went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed during my overnight stay, his kindness extended much farther than he knows!Thank you again kind, Sir. And I hope you didn't forget to tell your Mom she did an amazing job and there no way she couldn't be proud!”

Also, thank you to Florencia to always keeps Room clean and neat. Staff You're always ensure that I meet all my needs. I know it's a bit pricey, but to compromise with the comfort and happy when you spend time there. It's worth to pay!”

“The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The room was large with fridge and microwave. Coffee making facilities available in the room. The small window at the back of the room didn't have any curtains, which let the light in. The front main window had great coverage.Walkability: It is a walk to restaurants and bars.”

“We stay at this motel once a year for a special event. The rooms are basic...nothing special. The staff are really pretty cool. The best part about this motel is the location. You can easily walk to downtown shops and restaurants within minutes. The rooms might not be anything amazing but I have never had a problem with cleanliness or bugs or anything of that sort.Rooms: They do offer select options and my preferred is with two beds separated like a suite. They do have limited amounts of these available.Nearby activities: Irish pub right down the street. 24 hr gas station across the street and also a bakery.Safety: Never had anything broken into. I have left my car in the back parking lot and even on the side street with no problemsWalkability: Just about anything you could want close by. I will say as a reminder to people that San Luis shuts down most food places pretty early compared to other cities. One of the only 24 hr options is a McDonald's down the road a bit.”

“We had a wonderful stay! The staff is SO nice and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The place is pretty much your basic motel type of place. But what we loved about it was how it felt... good vibes, calm, mellow, easy. We had a great time visiting with other guests and enjoyed the pool and hot tub very much. The guys who take care of the pool area take pride and are very kind. One of my favorite things was the staff took great care to block off an area where a baby bat had perched for the day. When nightfall came, the little cutie took off into the sky. I was so appreciative they cared so much about our wild friends and didn't disturb it. A special experience. AND we slept really well! AND the coffee in the lobby was really good, also thankful for fresh oranges.”

“Love this hotel it's very nice inside and out. All the staff here are very friendly and professional. The rooms are large and the bed is very comfortable. There is an area to walk your dogs if you have them. There is also a bistro you can order breakfast and dinner that's the only thing I could say bad about it is the menu is very limited on selections I wish there was more to choose from. The grounds are kept clean and we'll maintained. Over all one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at. The prices are also reasonable for the rooms and comfortability that this hotel offers.Rooms: Rooms are very large and the bed is so very comfortable. The bathroom is also large with a shower/tub combo in the rooms.Walkability: There is not anything around to walk to really the nearest store is a small Chevron that is about a half mile up the road but the road is very very dark at night and hardly any light most of the way there. There isnt anything else around for about 3/4 - 1 mile away then you come to two large shopping centers one has Target the other has Costco and Home Depot along with a few other stores like PetSmart and TJ Maxx there is only two fast food places to eat at El Pollo Loco (Target center) and then Panda Express (Costco center) and that's all for fast food the only other place to eat there is Olive Garden. As far as anything within close walking distance is a bunch of other hotels and car dealerships that's about it.Food & drinks: There is a small Market inside the lobby area with little snacks (chips, candy, a few small items like soups) and soda pops. There is also a bistro on site opened for breakfast and dinner which has a limited menu I wish they had a larger menu but the things on there are pretty good a little expensive. There is also a Starbucks which again has a very limited menu no blended drinks or anything really made specially. It's your basic white mocha, cold brew, hot cocoa, ect.”

“WAIT A MINUTE... HANG ON...Did I book a room at the SANDS INN & SUITES or the RITZ CARLTON?As you might imagine given that this review is posted on the Google Maps page for the Sands Inn & Suites, I didn't book a room at the Ritz Carlton. My stay at the Sands was impeccable. I wouldn't trade my experience here for anything in the world...except maybe A MILLION DOLLARS. Other than that, I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING.”

“Nice place to stay for the location and price. We're definitely coming back.Be aware that if you do have a large vehicle, the parking may be a little tight.Walkability: Only .5mi away from the mission and shopping area. The only downfall is its an uphill walk, both ways. If my 76-year-young dad can do it, you can too.”
