I injured my back recently and i was trying to haul around a huge remote control car I wanted to get as a gift for a neighbors son. It got to the point my back was hurting so bad I had to pause. “Nice little market. I intentionally went to California Street Market for tamales. After overcoming a language barrier, I was able to purchase frozen tamales to take home and eat the next day (they have some warm tamales ready for purchase and eat.) I tried cheese & jalapeño and chicken tamales. The chicken were delicious, the cheese were dry and not very cheesy or spicy. Next time, I'd buy only chicken (or maybe some pork too) and steer clear of the cheese. While there, I picked up some chips, salsa, Mexican pastries and a few other odds 'n ends (grocery-related). Friendly staff, a lot of items packed into a small space. 4 stars”
