1. The staff is very friendly. Luis (Louise) is very knowledgeable about pet products and there's something that he doesn't know, he'll make sure to find the right resource for you.
2. They carry a whole variety of pet items - little fun trinkets and a variety of pet foods... their items cost less compared to other pet stores in SCV.
3. If they don't carry the product you need, they will order it for you and they will have it the next day.
4. Their customer service is great!”
“I took my dog here because they were the closest vets who could do a BAER test on a 2 year old pup who we suspected was shard of hearing for a long time. The vet was honest and mentioned if we suspect something, he probably has it and let us decide if we wanted to spend money or not. For the longest time we didn't think we needed testing until our dog started becoming aggressive towards other dogs with no warning and behaviorists recommended that we get him checked to know for sure and understand what's scaring him, so we just did it. We had NO idea he was 100% deaf, and now everything makes sense! The staff were all very friendly and attentive, they treated my dog very well, and he didn't even need sedation. I also really appreciated the transparency of pricing and everything before we decided to go ahead with the test. This test has changed everything and we are so thankful we went to this clinic.”

“I have taken many pets to Leo and Eva for years. They have always taken great care of me and my animals. They saved my Frenchie's life when she was a puppy. She was choking on food, and literally on the brink of passing. I rushed over, and they took her back right away. They've helped me care for my animals from when they are puppies and kittens, to when my babies get old, and it's time for them to cross Rainbow Bridge. Sometimes they do get super swamped, and may not answer the phone; and sometimes they have had to close early for personal reasons. But Leo has always been great in communicating, and always takes care of my fur babies. They are also very reasonably priced compared to other clinics / vets, especially the corporate places that usually just care about your money. Thank you so much for all you do, Leo & Eva!!”

Not only that, I am getting a new puppy and had SO many questions about vaccines and their process because we had a HORRIBLE experience with Vetco vaccination clinic with our other dog. Nathan was INCREDIBLY nice, patient and informative! I kept attacking him with questions and he answered every single one with such care and understanding! LOVED THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE!”
“We were recommended to Dr Conners seventeen years ago. We had an older Westie (15 years old) and she had some major health issues. Dr. Connor was honest with me about her pain level. The time came for Abbey to move on to a better life. Dr. Conner made our pain easier when he sent us a condolence card and some clippings of her hair. Dr. Conner has been seeing our two dogs now and it feels good to know that they're in good hands with him. Dr Conner is the best!!”
“Great local vet for rabbits! I bring my bunny here for regular visits and even some not so fun sick visits. They have been incredibly helpful, and kind every time I’ve visited. They are also quite versed in rabbit medicine, their second opinion on a diagnosis saved my rabbits life a few months back.”

“I've been bringing my pets her since 2014. At 5 Star Vet they do not put pressure to pay for procedures as other vets do. They give you the breakdown of fees and procedures and it is at your own discretion to pick what you think is best based on your budget.
I brought in my 16 year old dog who had a bad cough and other issues, without paying thousands, the vet prescribed the right meds and today, my dog is way better. Cough almost went away and he is sleeping all throughout the night.
They are busy, so be kind and patient with the staff and vets.”

Doctor Yao is vet who saw our dog, and he is the kindest and most compassionate person we've ever met. Their service, gentleness, care, and facility are all 10/10, and their cost is reasonable as well.”
“We just started taking out 2 cats here about a year ago. I was blown away at how clean this place was and the vet doctors were very informative and caring to our kitties. A couple weeks ago our sweet Marble kitty kidney disease advanced to the point that we had to make to difficult decision to put her down. I can't tell you how much I appreciated their effort to make this personal for us. They knew we were coming and had a room ready for us to come in so we didn't have to wait in the lobby. They explained the process thoroughly and was very sympathetic. They let us pay for the procedure inside the room so we wouldn't have to stop in lobby afterward. Totally appreciated that! We never felt rushed and let us take our time saying good byes. Dr Watts was amazing and took special care of Marble. I would highly recommend this place. We appreciate ALL the technicians that were involved. Thank you”

“VCA Chatoak really cares about your dog, but it is so difficult to get an appointment because they book up. Even urgent walk-ins might be turned sway unless they are serious emergencies. When you do get an appointment, they are thorough, helpful, and compassionate. They are quick to refill pet meds and are helpful. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable.”
