“Schools First Federal Credit Union customer service representative Suzy User Number 589 went light years above and beyond her job description to help me and my wife with a ATM deposit and we are not even members of her credit union. She stayed on the phone and did everything in her power to fix the problem we had. This is what customer service and caring about people in general should looks like. “This review is based on my experience with Russell Chester.My husband and I have been members of SAFE for 13 years and have never had a single issue banking with them until last week. We both made numerous attempts to have our issue resolved, and we were told by several people that there was nothing they could do to help us.I made one final attempt to have our problem resolved…… and I’m truly thankful I did. “I recently went into the Bradshaw Branch of the Sacramento Credit Union for a routine matter. The Branch Manager, Veronica Anguiano, and the teller listened to my concerns about a previous computer hack. They reviewed my loans and accounts and made recommendations that saved me about $350 per month. The teller also gave my dog treats and made me feel they care. That is why I continue to use the Sacramento Credit Union for my banking needs. I wish I remembered to write down the teller name. “I will say that many credit unions have more of a family-oriented atmosphere than the big name financial institutions such as Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo. And "SAFE Credit Union" is no exception. Based in Folsom (where their headquarters are) and serving the greater Sacramento area as well as Yuba, Sutter, El Dorado counties and parts of the Bay Area, this has been my go-to place dating back to the late-2000's. The location I am focusing on is directly on Madison Ave. and adjacent to San Juan Ave. in Citrus Heights. This location does have a drive-thru ATM machine as well as a single walk-up ATM machine outside. They do provide ample parking from two separate entrances. Once inside, the interior of this credit union is quite open and spacious. There are several areas where you can sit and wait as well as a respectable amount of cubicles where many of the bankers provide questions on loans (personal, student, home equity, vehicle) as well as mortgages, money market, and IRA's. The area where the tellers work is also spacious while the line moves rather quickly. Some of the major advantages that this credit union offers is free checking, no ATM fees at non-SAFE credit unions, low interest credit cards, and overdraft protection. I've taken out several loans where the monthly payments have not been too expensive which is a huge plus. Their mobile app is also very handy where you can transfer money with ease while navigating through all your accounts. All in all, "SAFE Credit Union" is an above average place to serve all your banking needs. My rating, four stars.”

“I have been banking with SCU for over 15 years. I've been waiting to open an account with a different credit union (not SCU) because they offer it through my work. It has been over two weeks and I still haven't been approved. Mind you, I have an excellent credit score and no red flags. This terrible/annoying experience with the other credit union has made me really appreciate SCU even more than I already do. Everything with SCU has always been quick, efficient, and the staff has been great to work with. I appreciate SCU!”

“Ms. Sharon is gonna mess around and make me leave my credit union in favor of Schools! I had a loan with Schools years ago and began receiving statements that showed I had hundreds of dollars in the account. Knowing that was incorrect, I stopped by to ask the staff to look up my account and go over it with me. I was greeted by Ms. Sharon (whom I would later learn is a manager), and another young lady. Ms. Sharon looked up my account and verified the funds were accurate, and that I put them there! She told me how to withdraw some of the monies (I didn't have an ATM or anything), made me an ATM card and then I asked about having the account closed, since I bank elsewhere. Ms. Sharon shared about the recent merger and how membership qualifications have changed, so I decided to keep the account open. I headed to the teller and was helped by Stephanie, who was very nice and provided additional information on how to manage my account. Lovely experience at Schools, I may be switching (primary) credit unions!”

“A few months back. I got in a car accident. The girl broke my car. I have two jobs and have great credit. All of my banking is with Golden 1. I was told I needed to have an $800 deposit to get a loan.Or a cosigner. LOL my car guy got me a loan from another Credit Union great rate didn't have to pay for a month, no deposit and no cosigner:-) I was getting invites for Golden 12 re-assign my loan to Golden 1. The rates were high. I went in and spoke with Armine Hovhannison member services specialist. And she agreed for me to stay with the loan that I have.. I love my golden one for so many reasons. Help me live my life. Financially speaking.... I felt as if my golden one let me down.. this gal renewed me to think I should stay with you... thank you a r m i n e”

“This review is for my experiences with Sacramento credit union in general, not just this location. I have been a long-time member originally with Kai Perm credit union for kaiser employees. However, when Sacramento credit union took over, I kept my account with them . I don't really have any complaints and have a checking & savings account with them . I had a $1000 CD, which i kept open for years. I have had two auto loans with them , I co-signed for my sons personal loan, and I obtained a second on my home. The location here is easy to access when serving on a jury , I used to frequent the Morse location when I worked in the area but now I use the Elk Grove branch as it is close to my home. I appreciate the hours they are open as well as the call center, which you are easily able to speak to a live person without jumping through hoops. Unlike the big banks who you can rarely speak to a live person both in branch or over the phone.”
“(Alyssa Golden) ❤️Has been an extremely professional and respectful person. I have came to this branch how many times. With so many different problems and every time she welcomed me with kindness and respect. I took the time to write today cuz she went above and beyond not only making sure that all customers are helped but she didn’t even act frustrated about she was so sweet and wanted to make sure no one goes without being helped. The lady working next to her kept telling one of the customers who just got back from asking the people at the window inside and said that they couldn’t help her mater and to go to the front desk. The lady working next to Alyssa repeatedly was telling the customer they can help you and to go back there. The customer wasn’t happy and didn’t want to go back. Alyssa then nicely offered to help the customer if she is happy to wait for a bit. I had an issue with an online long in and at first we didn’t know what was the problem as we Alyssa tried everything. I saw that it was a mystery and might take a while so I said I’d come back later but Alyssa asked that if I’m ok waiting and she would look further into it. I was so happy when I saw her going out of her way to make sure it’s done. I wasn’t even upset leaving the first time but she wanted to make sure every customer gets what they came for and every time she gave me a wonderful welcoming experience. I believe this lady should be promoted or at least a hire raise.My God bless her ?”
