“The great thing about having a local bike shop is their connection to the community leads to better customer service and BB has that going just right. I was on a ride recently and my shifters were annoyingly a bit off. But my loop took me through downtown Novato so I stopped off at BB.

The shop was busy and Devin had several bikes in the repair shop. But he somehow remembered my name and immediately put my bike in a stand and fixed the problem. When I asked how much as I pulled out my CC he said there was no charge and to enjoy my ride. Now that’s customer service that draws return loyalty.

Note: On top of the customer service, they also have most of my favorite bike brands and to top it off a great selection of beers on tap! What more could you ask for in a bike shop?!!”

“Best bike shop in Marin! I’ve been getting all my bikes serviced there for over a year now, and contrary to my previous shop in downtown San Rafael (MB) the work is always done correctly for a very fair price. On top of that, the staff is super friendly, and they sell beer—what more can you ask for??”

“I’m new to cycling and swung by Sunshine Bikes today to get some guidance on my new bike. They were incredibly helpful and patient with my questions, never once making me feel dumb for asking them. I’d recommend them for any bike needs you may have.”

“I had already purchased a bike and wanted to find out what small adjustments I needed to make. I was with John for over 2 hours as he measured and watched how I rode on the trainer. He looked at all aspects including my cleats and shoes. His input was fantastic. What's even more impressive, is that I can email questions and he still will respond and work with me. I highly recommend them.”

“Best customer service and very professional! They helped us put our bike in a box for a flight to Germany. Would absolutely recommend for anyone wanting to bring their bike with them on vacation. Great selection of tools and practical advice from the entire team”

“I had the pleasure of visiting Caesar's Cyclery yesterday where I got top quality service from Caesar Sr. I ended up purchasing a vintage 1970s Schwinn suburban after test riding 3 other commuter bikes of various ages and makes - I'm in love with my choice. With the bike that I chose being older, Caesar Sr. took the time to check the breaks and gears before making the purchase and riding out. He also hooked me up with a used helmet and took the time to adjust the fit for comfort and safety. I was happy to support his local family ran shop! Highly recommend.”

“I am somewhat of a regular at the San Rafael Mike’s Bikes. I came because the San Rafael location was out of a particular tire I needed for my commute bike. By comparison to both Marin locations (Sausalito), the space is smaller but the building has its historic old Petaluma charm that includes the historic mill out the window. Not only did this location have the tire, Ian the mechanic offered to put it on (San Rafael requires booking in advance). The labor rate was fair and he did a great job at lining the wheel with the rotor brakes that I forced myself to admit that I can’t DIY it effectively. My bike certainly is faster as a result. Luckily for San Rafael, they have a fun soaring over-the-ridge route from my house and Bordenave’s Bakery as a neighbor, but this Petaluma shop is better just as a shop. As one would see the review was edited: I wrote all the preceding on the train home and I noticed that I went significantly faster able to use higher gears on the 2 miles of uphill streets, 1 mile of uphill fire road, and roar through a momentum-or-die trail (narrow and windy hillside that’s steep-in-some sections) on the biking part of my way home. Great job dude!”
