“As a plumbers wife, we have been longtime customers here. The plumbing part selection is wide and vast. The selection of Kohler is outstanding.
My favorite part of the store however is the customer service. There are not many places that greet you by name these days. All are willing to assist you w/whatever you need. Let's not forget the FREE popcorn. Popped fresh everyday. (While supplies last)

“This is one of my favorite stores in Chinatown, it's a lot like the Ben Franklin shops of my childhood. They have great toys, crafts, hardware, housewares, accessories, and pajamas and shoes, and snacks! They really do have everything. We get our house slippers here. You can't beat their prices and the owners are pleasant.”

“The guys that I've interacted with at Economy Lumber have been extremely patient and helpful. They worked with my oldest son to figure out what sizes of lumber he should purchase for his Eagle project so that they could cut it from larger pieces to save him money. They also gave him a student/community service discount. My younger son recently went in early at 7:30am on a Friday morning to get lumber for a school project and they again told us the most cost effective sizes and quality of boards to purchase and then cut it for him. I dropped him at school with the cut lumber by 8:30am. I know we were lucky that they were not busy that morning, but it was just so awesome that they could and did help us so quickly. I highly recommend Economy for any school or community service project.”
“This place is a good business to buy from! They have a lot of light products and the shopkeeper was an expert. She helped me choose the right kind of light bulbs when I don’t know much about them. One thing to note is that although it looks like this shop is closed (with all the gates closed), it is open.”
“I walked in to Telegraph Hardware and Kay was very helpful, since I needed to box up some very fragile equipment. “The staff at this location is generally friendly HELPFUL and knowledgeable .... While the lady at the key cutting machine didn't know for sure where I would find a trailer hitch lock... she sent me to the section with all the locks ... Where I found the lock I needed. Check out however was a pain in the butt ... only one register open along with the four self check out lanes none of which accepted cash and thereby sat empty. The only open register had 5 people with large orders at it .. I went to garden and checked out with virtually no wait as the only client there was finishing his transaction as I walked up.”
