I go for the bourbons and stouts and am never disappointed in the selection. be prepared to pay a bit of a premium, but know they have some choices not found at competing local stores. “This is a great corner store. They tried to help out during the shut down by offering things you couldn't find in the grocery stores. Flour, corn meal, milk, bread. The staff is always helpful and are also part of the community. It gives me a warm feeling inside when I go grab Takis, Hot Cheetos, and Gatorade for my heathens, that they will be safe and watched out for if they stop by.”

“It might sound silly but this is one of my favorite stores ever. I've been a regular customer forever. I was playing a video game here during the 89 earthquake and barely noticed before the machine almost tipped over. Being pretty close to the county hospital they have to deal with more than their fare share of of the mentally divergent and homeless which with they do with understanding and patience. The times that I am broke and really need something they have always had my back. It might not be fancy but they are honest and dependable. They have affordable quality products with a pretty decent selection. They are exactly what you should expect from your local corner convenient mart. Not the place to do your weekly grocery shopping but the perfect place to grab a few things you need on the way home.”

“Village Market is such a nice place to have in downtown Clayton. They are always very friendly and outgoing! Not to mention the vast alcohol selection, on top of the lengthy Candy isle and those misc things you don’t want to travel to the grocery store for. OH! And the dedicated Haagen Dazs freezer - come on! Great selection on everything for a small market, even have smoky treats. They definitely add value to the small town feel!!Highly recommend stopping by. You’ll leave with a smile. I do! = )”

“I have driven past this market many times and never gave it a second thought. Until I saw them all over my Instagram show casing their elite picks of brews.They have a few cases packed with dozens of craft brews both small and large breweries. I stopped in to grab some fun new beers for a friends birthday. She is not into the IPA craze and I was worried that I wouldn't have much to pick from, but I was wrong! I got 4 picks that I not only think she will enjoy but also the art on the can is great! If you are not into beer, there are other options for you to grab. There is a small cider section and they have liquor and basic beer grabs.”

The friendly, and very accommodating lady in the Bakery Department put them aside for me to pick up within the hour. Thanks so much, Raley’s, for saving our holiday celebration!
