“My wife had her first ESL placement test with Pars Equality Center, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for how it went.
The test was conducted online via Zoom, and Intake Manager Mehrnaz Jaan made the entire experience so smooth and comfortable. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and thorough — she walked us through every step of the process and made sure we understood everything clearly.
You could tell she genuinely cares about the people she helps. For someone going through this process for the first time, that kind of warmth means everything.
Pars Equality Center had been highly recommended to us, and after today, I completely understand why. My wife is so excited to start her English classes, and honestly, a big part of that excitement comes from the confidence Mehrnaz Jaan gave us during the intake. She made us feel like we’re not just joining a program — we’re joining a community.
Mehrnaz Jaan — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The way you guide and support people who are new to this journey is truly special. We are so excited to be a part of this program and we can’t wait to see my wife’s English grow!”

“the cashier helped us locate plants and took our payment as well. she was well informed and knew everything we purchased without having to look at plant names. very nice location and only wish i would have left the kids at home so we had more time to spend @ this beautiful and well stocked location in sunny Southern California! :)”
“Incredible experience. Poverty tour was moving. Have volunteered here many times and will continue to sign up. It’s good for me, my kids, and those we are serving. Absolutely recommend coming to volunteer, donating towards, etc. Great for all ages!”
“This hidden gem is great for people and pets alike. The trails are well maintained. It offers multiple view points of the valley, some with shade. Its makes for a great workout or a leisure walk in nature. My wife and I enjoy taking this nearby trail when we need a nature bath or want to take our Shih Tzu for a solid hour power walk. Best of all, it's conservation efforts help the environment surrounding it.”
“A genuine hidden gem in Los Angeles. When you go into the building, you are met by stunning art deco, speakeasy, and forties vibes. I was astonished by how big the building is once inside. I am honored to be a visitor since you must be a member or have been invited. We had a great experience. Bartender on point :) Met some wonderful people as we enjoyed a night cap. If you have the opportunity, stop by. Thank you to all military personnel for your service.”
“I wanted to say thank you to the Hollywood American Legion Post 43 for their donation of food to our Station during the Palisades Fire.
Your generosity was very much appreciated by our Firefighters.
Thank you!!!”
“Friendly staff. Great service. Saw lots of happy pet owners and pets leaving the facility. Walked in with no appointment for vaccinations at the busiest time of day and was out the door after 30 min.”
“It was my first time visiting this local VFW (2323), I was surprised to learn about this location located right around the corner from me that I hadn't noticed was there. The location isn't very flashy nor does it stand out when looking at the front door from chatsworth st. I was hesitant to come in at first due to experiences at other VFWs, to my surprise when I walked in I was surprised to find that this VFW is actually very welcoming and friendly. As soon as I opened the front door I saw that it was a warm welcoming environment vs the dark and dingy, unfriendliness that I have experienced at other VFWs in the past. I was welcomed in by, the bartender Tina, and a couple other guys, an older gentleman named Arnie, and a younger one named Anthony. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, they showed me around and when I saw the back patio I was truly surprised, it's beautiful, with a fountain, bbq and putting greens, they also let me know that they have live bands Friday thru Sunday. I will definitely be visiting this location again soon. Thank you again to Tina, Arnie, and Anthony for making me feel welcomed”
“Had an amazing experience at the YMCA yesterday. Huge shoutout to Harry at the front desk — his positivity, energy, and genuine excitement made the whole membership process feel effortless. He gave us a great tour and made us feel right at home. Mimi was also super kind and helpful. Staff like them are the reason places like the YMCA feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this location!”
“Friendly people greet you when you arrive. Finally, I found a place where your donations go directly to our brave soldiers and their families and not to God knows where. It would be great if they had more locations, maybe a location near the Los Angeles Airport that would cover the south side of L.A.”

“Ring bell for Carlos if gift shop is shuttered but hours say open. Super delicious toffee. Pumpkin bread is their signature bakery hood and once seasonal only cranberry proved so popular it’s available year round. Be warned Carlos is an excellent salesman and you might leave feeling swindled but don’t worry everything you buy supports the nuns and boy does that peanut brittle sneak up on you proving Carlos correct. Eaten without it’s counterparts it is addictive bc it’s not sickly sweet like other brittle. Easy to polish off an entire bag. Carlos will also give a history of the monastery and tell lots of entertaining stories of visitors describing the goods as crack to which Carlos will reply that he has never tried crack so can’t rightfully compare. There are also more salacious Thorn Bird and Milkman esque gossip for the less easily offended. And nuns are human ones like when they go to See’s to check out the competition. Oh and you can also quiet reflect in chapel and gardens.”
“Since 2017, I have adopted and long-term fostered several senior cats from Perry's Place, a total of 5 fur babies (pictured).
The staff and volunteers at Perry's Place are wonderful! They go out of their way to help you find the right cat to adopt and solutions for foster cats with any medical issues.
I started volunteering during COVID and continue to do so twice a week. It is my happy place.
If you've never been, check out Perry's Place/Heaven on Earth on Thursdays through Sundays. The free roam rooms allow you to interact and get to know the cats more.
Shouts out to Joss, Eric, Leslie, Michelle, Channing, Leandra, Emma, Dr. P. & Mario; you are doing so much for so many cats who would never have had this chance for a better life, whether at Perry's Place sanctuary or in their forever home.”
“I went there in 6th grade in 1979 and again today. Good memories and good people. My friend Will is an amazing swimming instructor there and you should definitely take his class.”
“this is the place. it feels like an upscale store, super clean, organized and when i went they were playing classical music :,) the pieces are so well taken care of, and everything was 50% off! then - i looked at the prices and they are so FAIR for the very upscale pieces they have. i found a $550 veronica beard sweater for 30 DOLLARS! it was definitely my win for the day. the two women who run the shop are so kind, friendly, and actually take the time to share what the shop is all about and where the proceeds go. will definitely be back!”
“I visited the LA Kings Ice Burbank for the whole hockey season to watch my four adult children. It was always clean, people are friendly, the times of games were always on point, ice was always in great condition. It's a great place to watch adult hockey games if you're looking for some entertainment. Free parking, free to get in to watch Adult League. I learned the game of hockey and became a lover of the game. Good job staff!”
“I came here for the LACSS sale. It was my first time there so I'm not sure what other events they have. I found the grounds pretty and easy to navigate which it great when you have trouble walking”
“Excellent overall experience. Great website with more than enough information and helpful guidance. Very pleasant and helpful service through email, texts, and on the phone. Easy scheduling for pickup, and the truck driver was on time. Good price for the sale gave me a sizable charitable tax deduction. Thanks, Riteway”
“FixNation is truly an organization that cares for kitties. This organization is AMAZING !! The staff is nice and helpful, the paperwork process is easy! Donations are welcome and VERY well deserved ! I'm so thankful to them for helping us with Trixie a feral kitten that showed up in our backyard. Took months for her to trust us and I kept researching several places to help me get her spayed before she had kittens herself. Thanks to FIxNation Trixie will be able to live her life as a free and safe cat!”
“I stopped in to check out some camping stuff. The staff was helpful and friendly. The store was clean and had a small variety of games, camping equipment and more.”

“I am no a fan os soccer, but it is a delightful experience to spend an afternoon with the beautiful people of Argentina.
What I like, it is that it was not just a football soccer, but a family gathering, with babies, children, teenagers, adults, elderly came together as one voice singing, laughing, and ready to give their chairs to someone else that was with a baby, or with a cain.
Their instruments plating the drums were contagious, and I have to taste their traditional food. The overall experience it will be forever in my heart.
The place it is kind of small for this kind of events, and the air conditioner needs to be stronger. Hopefully they can find a bigger place to make the experience 100% enjoyable.
Regardless the limited space, and the issues with the air conditioner, most likely, I will be back!!”
“I needed some assistance with helping get a pitbull mix a home I called and the lady on the phone was extremely helpful. Very kind. Definitely somebody I’d want to get information from.”

“From the moment I walked in the door I was blown away by this facility. Yevette ran that place like a Union Made watch. Russ and Tony are true leaders and when you play with puppies all day how can you not be awesome. The puppies are cared for to level I've never seen and they are all adorable. The icing on the cake, is knowing all this is done to help people at no cost to the patient. I proudly donate to GDA TLC on a weekly basis to maximize my contribution. If you feel you need to give money to someone to help others this is truly the place you should put your money!”
“Don't frequent this place often. Imy cousin used to work the bar years ago. Visiting recently and they had a Black Sabbath cover band play that was awesome and a great bartender named Kathy. Very personable and friendly. People there were nice and everyone seemed to have a good time!”
“It's Oscars weekend! Wonderful star studded experience to kick off this Awards season. Thanks for sharing SMILES and and all the exclusive perks. #TEAMSMILEY”
