Lumsden Park is a small but well-shaded playground located in a quiet neighborhood near downtown Placerville. The park features decent equipment and a nice grassy area, although it doesn't usually have a lot of kids. One unique feature is the nearby lake, which is stocked once a year for a kids' fishing tournament, making it a fun and engaging activity for local children. The park is described as a "sleepy" and "beautiful oasis," though some visitors note that the lake can be a bit dirty at times. Restrooms are not available, but there are a few picnic tables for visitors to use. The park is dog-friendly, as long as pets are kept on leashes. While the park is generally well-maintained, some visitors have reported issues with pests, such as wasps and spiders, as well as concerns about the cleanliness of the lake and potential safety hazards. Overall, Lumsden Park seems to be a peaceful, shaded spot for local residents to enjoy a bit of nature in the heart of the city.
One of the best playgrounds near downtown placerville, there is some decent equipment and a very nice shaded grass area. Doesn't usually have a lot of kids, but we've run into a some a few times. It's shared in the morning and late afternoon. Hope to see you there.
