“I have been fostering with Contra Costa Humane Society since 2021 and have cared for around 20 or more cats and kittens through their program. I originally started because I wanted to help kittens and cats who had nowhere else to go, and this organization has made it possible for me to do that in ways I never could have managed alone. They have supported me through so many different situations. When someone asked me to help a pregnant stray, the Humane Society took her in and provided everything I needed for both the mother and her kittens. On another occasion, I found a stray mother cat with six kittens, and they helped me safely capture the entire family, get them all fixed, and eventually get them adopted. The foster team is incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and generous with the supplies they have, especially considering how heavily they rely on donations. Whenever I have needed food, equipment, medical guidance, or urgent support, someone has been there. One experience that will always stay with me involved a kitten with fading kitten syndrome. I was terrified and did not know what else to do. A foster coordinator came to my home very late to take the kitten and try to help her. Unfortunately, the kitten passed away, but the team made sure I understood that it was not my fault. Their compassion during such an emotional experience meant more to me than I can explain. They are also wonderful teachers. I took their bottle baby classes, and soon afterward I had the confidence to foster bottle babies myself. I always had access to experienced people who could answer questions and guide me through the process. That support gave me the courage to try something intimidating, and I would absolutely do it again. Most recently, they handled my foster-to-adopt experience with my current boy wonderfully. The care, communication, and adoption process were all handled with so much kindness. I believe in this organization so deeply that my investment portfolio is designated to be donated to them if I pass away. They do incredible work and genuinely try their best for every kitten and cat who comes through their care. I cannot recommend CCHS enough to anyone considering fostering, adopting, volunteering, or donating. They are responsive, compassionate, hardworking, and truly committed to the animals they serve.”

“AMAZING. They have so many good finds vintage, new, and y2k. You definitely have to hunt but it's worth it. They have cute little carts you can push around which are convenient. I got like 20 things for $60 which was a steal. Very good color tag deals and low low prices. Apparently you can coupon online for more savings! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING ETC.”
