River Oak Veterinary Hospital
2369 Patterson Rd, RiverbankMy family has been bringing our pets to River Oak for 20+ years. Dr. Shaner and staff went out of their way to save our dog, Pearl, when she was hit by a car as a pup. They performed extensive surgeries including grafting of skin to save her life. She has passed but her portrait is beautifully displayed in their office as is our cat, Moo. Since than we have had the our pets in the care of Dr. Chatfield, and Dr. Drew. Dr. Chatfield went above and beyond when my puppy Cody had ear issues. With her care, knowledge and guidance, he was able to overcome and did not require surgery. Most recently they went out of their way to get my Bailey in to confirm if she may have a problematic pregnancy in an emergency. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are that we have River Oak Veterinary to care for our loved ones in the most dire times. Despite the changes in vet staffing, the level of care has never faltered and I whole heartedly will continue to recommend and celebrate the entire staff of River Oak.

2220 Patterson Rd, RiverbankSecond trip to the Protein Spot and both of my drinks were awesome. I got the butterfinger yesterday and the Boss today. The boss was recommended by the owner. He was very helpful and kind. It has great flavor and a bit of a bite to it thanks to the walnuts. They also had a ton of different coffees and energy based drinks. Quick service and I was able to call in advance since I was on my lunch. Both drinks were each $11 and some change. Excited to return back.

Atmosphere is nice, tho it was a little sparce and echoey.
I wouldn't call it a cocktail bar - the menu was a bit remedial and drinks definitely needed additional shaking for aeration and chilling (especially given the hot evening).
All in all a great spot to stop into.

6333 Oakdale Rd suite i, RiverbankI recently had the pleasure of dining at Palo Santo Cafe in Riverbank, California, and the experience was absolutely amazing!
The food was a true revelation. I can confidently say I have never had better Mole Sauce anywhere—the owner shared that it's made with 40 different spices, and you can taste the complexity and passion in every bite.
Exceptional Service and Personal Touch
What truly set this visit apart was the service. The owner personally came out to serve and speak with us, sharing wonderful details about their kitchen. She described how her husband had just made the very first batch of gelato and even walked us through the intricate process they use to create both the famous mole and the delicious cheesecake. I have never been treated so great by any other host or owner—it felt incredibly welcoming and special.
Beyond the main meal, the dessert selection was equally impressive. I absolutely love the gelato, and the variety offered was fantastic. But the showstopper was the cheesecake; it was so incredible that I just had to take two slices home!
If you're in the area, Palo Santo Cafe is a must-visit for top-notch food, phenomenal desserts, and truly heartfelt, personal service. Highly, highly recommend!
