“We went to Leanna Lin’s last month and felt the need to share a positive review! The shop is small but filled with so many cute goodies and collectibles from AAPI artists. I loved the cards and books in many languages, and especially appreciated the ones in Tagalog. The sales associate at the counter was also friendly and warm. The biggest perk of this shop (and a major reason we’ll choose to go to her business over others) is the affordability of collectibles. Smiskis/Sonny Angels are marked up like crazy in so many places in LA and she sells them at a reasonable price, thus allowing for increased accessibility despite its extreme popularity. It makes the drive up here from the west side worth it. Highly recommend going here for the large selection of collectibles!”

I had a very rough idea for the scent that I like although I’m sure I left with an elevated taste for perfume! Thanks to Daniel & Alfredo who are so helpful & patient.

“Love this store. I have gone every Christmas since I found it. They have the most beautiful Christmas displays and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I can't wait until October when their Christmas displays are up and I can add to my Christmas decor. They are open all year around as it is a design store. They also have fall and halloween items during the fall season.”

“Went in today to pick up an online order. We had got some merch of one of our fave movies Beetlejuice. While looking around we were greeted by Alyssa. Omgsh she's the sweetest person I've met at this location. She is so helpful and answered all my questions. Alyssa really had a great personality and made our night. “I've ordered from this location several times and decided to pay a visit as I was passing through California. I'm so glad I did. I was able to purchase a Hangyodon plush in person. This store has every character in stock with the exception of Usahana. She seems to sell out quickly. They are an officially licensed Sanrio store so you know you will also be purchasing items from Japan as well. This is one of the few Sanrio stores that is super organized and very easy to shop. Glad we made the visit.”
“Ordered an arrangement on valentines day morning to be delivered (yeah I'm that guy). Wound up driving to pick up order around 6PM since I was worried it wasn't going to get delivered. Staff was very kind and helpful in spite of the craziness. Quickly found my order under a valentines day avalanche of flowers and fancy fruits and sent me on my way. Wife and daughter loved it.”

“When I shop for gifts outside of my neighborhood (East Hollywood), Retreat is my go-to. Diane, the owner, has curated a wonderful collection of jewelry, art prints, cards and fun gifts for virtually any occasion. Despite this shop's relatively small size, it is packed with goodies. My go-to is always the card section, where I invariably find a card for an upcoming birthday or, even better, the perfect card for a friend who could use a pick-me-up or a good laugh. My stationary drawer is packed with Retreat cards that I've got on the ready and I am very grateful. There is a great range of options in terms of price. You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. If you are looking a bit higher-end, there is a lovely collection of jewelry: but you are definitely paying for quality work that will be appreciated. Diane and the various employees are invariably friendly and eager to help you find something perfect for your friend or family.”
“Best cultural center with many activities. They have a festival that is FREE to to all for all. The next one is October 15th, 2023. The knowledge wisdom and love is felt and there are soooo many beautiful things to explore. Its a cultural center, store and a museum in one place.”

It is a treasure trove of delightful gifts - relics of great beauty, exquisite detail, everything you would hope for.The store is now in the fabulous community of San Marino, and we can honestly say no matter where you live in the LA area, it is well worth your drive.
