“Whole living in Salinas I loved shopping at this store. In fact my shoe rack was filled at home. Nevertheless, I still loved going into this store to check the latest in shoe styles. The staff members were always friendly and eager to assist customers to find the perfect shoe for their needs. This is one of my favorite stores at this mall.”

“The foos working on the night of Friday 11/25 gave the best service I've ever experienced in any clothing store. The place was packed and I still felt like I was getting lots of individual help and attention, and they were all very relaxed the whole time. They helped me pick out my first pair of Empyre pants and they gave me a lot of good recommendations. One dude said I should try a 38 even though I usually wear a 36, and it looked way better. Forever grateful for this night god bless those homies.”

“I like this place because it has a variety of footwear. But the last time I was the person who was there I just didn't like his attitude, I asked him for another color of sneakers and he just said no and kept sweeping. Ami's lack of interest makes me feel unwelcome.”
“They actually have a couple of retail locations within a block or so of each other on Alisal street, so make sure you visit all of them. Larger retail location in a strip mall area is the largest retail footprint and has a top quality hat shaping bar (Arctic Hatters) and very qualified and skilled hat shapers. Broadest inventory of western hats with focus on American Hat Co and Stetson, but you find a lot of other brands in here as well including a few from Vaqueros Finest, and other brands. Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Bought a Stetson El Patron at the original location across the street (small, but a ton of inventory stacked in there) and brought it across to have the shape modified (wings brought down so it looked less like a taco on my head) and was treated very well. Have recommended to several friends who have all had great experiences here. Fonz and Manny do a lot of the shaping and both are excellent.”
“I did not have to wait for anything I was approached by saleswoman got me what I needed and out the door less than 15 minutes.... Sharai answered ALL my questions,I winning just to get my husband a pair of work shoes and walked out with another pair for me also, the Southwest willing to answer all my weird shoe questions and take the time to make me feel like they wanted my business.Thank you.”

“5 out 5 friendly attentive staff. I went in to buy some shoes for my son, I’m not really knowledgeable on the new trends kids use now a days but they were amazing on helping me out. When I walked in I was greeted by a young gentleman who was able to help me on finding something my son would enjoy. They have a large variety on shoes and I was glad I went in because my son was happy with the two pair I purchased. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“Dropped in here mid January 2026, and spent a few hours. Largest retail footprint for western apparel in the Salinas area. Very large store. Mostly clothing, strong hat shaping bar with skilled hat shaper. Primarily Serratelli but also Biggar felt hats and a few others including house-brand straw hats. Great place to pickup a new western hat. Broad selection of boots, mostly at the entry price point with scattering of higher priced boots. Amazing staff, pleasant and fun to chat with.”
“Great customer service! We were asked several times by the employees if we needed assistance. Decent selection of boots. If you're a larger size (men's 12 and 13) then the selection is definitely more limited and only a handful of wides. Only complaint was the way the boots were organized on the floor. The boots were organized by size except for the work boots, which were organized by style.”
“I was desperately in need of a new pair of tennis shoes. I had just tried to buy a pair of shoes at the store across the aisle, which had just the pair I was looking for. But they did not greet me upon entering the store and pretty much ignored my presence. Even though I was standing near the checkers stand with a shoe in my hand, trying to try on my size. With only one other customer in the store and three employees on hand I figured it would be an easy process. But two employees felt it more important to discuss last week's parties. I left very frustrated and decided to step into this store. They greeted me as I walked in and although there were four other customers in there, the two employees were doing their best to attend to everyone. I applaud their tenacity to multi task. Although they did not have the exact shoe I was looking for, they had such a great variety of colors I found something colorful I really liked. Although assisting another customer, the employee quickly looked for a shoe in my size and it fit perfect. I was checked out in a timely manner and was very pleased as a customer. I would for sure go back next time I need shoes.”
