“Wish the chairs and sofa were a little higher. Been an owner for 30plus years getting up to a standing position takes some effort at 78.next time I'll bring pillows to sit on. Just keep in mind your aging owners”

“The location of the hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of San Clemente and walking distance to the beach. The Nomads Canteen is above the hotel and offers a nice beer menu, full bar and tasty, fresh food. The vibe in the bar is great and there is a large outdoor patio with a fire pit.

The room we had was big, with 3 beds (2 queen, 1 double), a small kitchen area with a good size fridge and a microwave, and a large shower.

They also offer a surf camp, which we might have taken advantage of if we’d had more time in the area.

The canteen is quite loud until 11pm, with music and chairs scraping. There are ear plugs and a white noise machine in the room, which helped a lot. From midnight to morning it’s nice and quiet.

There are 10 parking spots available that are shared with the canteen, so you need to get there before evening to beat the bar crowd.

Overall, it’s a great location and nice, funky vibe hotel. The staff communicates well, even though it’s a self serve entry.”

“LOVED LOVED LOVED staying here! The vibes and views of this place are incredible! Each room has a kitchen, the fireplace at night was amazing, the property also has comfy lounge chairs and the grass is so nice to lay and play on. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, rooms were clean and our bed was comfortable! It is just a few minute walk to the pier, beach and free trolley stops. There is a convenient store nearby for snacks. Would 10/10 recommend!!!”

“A true hidden gem among coastal hotels in California, and I'm not exaggerating! If you like low-key, easy to access rooms, without the hassle of heading down elevators, crossing major streets, etc. etc. to get the beach, then this is your place. We got a studio room with a kitchenette and big personal patio. Super clean inside, everything worked perfectly, windows were clean, and the views were out of this world. There were tons of windows to open and the sea breeze was perfect. We had a great couple of nights here!”

“Great experience! Very friendly and accommodating! They found a way for my husband to park his large truck when we arrived. We also forgot our food in the fridge after checkout, and they allowed us to go back in and grab it. Room was very clean. They are awesome! I highly recommend.”

“I lived in SC FOR 18 yrs and passed by this little gem thousands of times and never thought I would need to stay here. I moved to Oregon and had to visit SC. GREAT lil motel right in the heart of town. Price was good too.”

“Great stay overall. The staff—Anthony, Rose, Susan, Ron, and the team—were outstanding, incredibly responsive, and made us feel like family.

Location is excellent, and the experience was very positive. A few improvements like better blackout curtains, more comfortable pillows, updated gym equipment/TVs, and additional recycling bins would make it even better.

Would definitely come back.”

“Really nice cottage in a great location! Friendly and uncomplicated contact. Great amenities, clean, good value for money (given that California is very expensive and other locations that were not nearly as nice had about the same asking price).Rooms: Two levels, lower level had kitchenette and dining table, upper level had living room, bedroom and bathroom with bathtub.”

“We’ve done some traveling through our timeshare and the stay at the Four Seasons Pacifica was done through trading at II. We stayed in 3 bed, 2 car garage unit(Las Brisas). The view, quality kitchen equipments, and spacious unit made our vacation a dream. It was definitely one of the best experience we had! Looking forward to go back, when it is available through II again.Just want to mention that it is not a hotel, but a small 5 unit condo type accommodation.”

“It was nice and clean. Building overall was somewhat dated. My BIGGEST problem was locating it. It is on a hill above a minimall with very poor signs indicating how to navigate. Google maps tells you to make a right, and you end up in the Inn and Out drive thru line. Lol. I would have waited for a burger, but it was a very long line. I finally found some unlit signs that directed me. The lobby is also unmarked and difficult to distinguish (there is no pull in area.) Once you get there, it is surprising nice for the price point and location. Pay the extra for the upstairs room. Excellent conference room with high ceilings.”

“Stayed with my husband for a last minute trip because our flight got canceled and we were skeptical due to reviews. However, we were pleasantly delighted and impressed with how wonderful the room was for such a great price and couldn’t be in a better location. There were so many shops and food spots in a walking distance. The room had Roku and the bed was super comfortable!! What a wonderful stay. Thank you Surf break we will definitely be back!”

“The hotel is at good location. We could see the ocean in distance from our room. The pier is about 15 mins walk from the hotel. And the room we stayed in seemed to be well maintained too. The only thing we were little frustrated about was the check in process. Since there was only one person at the desk we had to wait about 25 mins in a 5 people queue.”

“To encounter such friendly and helpful staff is a thrill. The room was perfect and the breakfast unusually good too. The exterior isn't fancy but it's everything you need and more.

Rooms: Very clean and comfortable rooms.

Nearby activities: Beach is a short walk.”

“The wife and I stayed here for a weekend and loved it. The rooms are quaint and the deck outside the rooms are perfect for watching the sun set over the ocean.

If you want the Ritz, this isn’t the place. If you want a comfortable room with a nice bed, look no further. The bathroom tubs are a little dated, and used to have a jacuzzi function, which no longer works, but the shower was hot and worked fine.

The San Clemente trolley stops outside and is free, so you can park your car, have a drink or two, and let public transportation do heavy lifting for you. They gave us a coffee voucher for the cafe downstairs, and with a $5 tip, we had multiple refills in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.”

“I had a great experience at this hotel, and what stood out the most was the exceptional service from the staff, the front desk staff employee named Jeremy was super helpful.”

“At one third the price of the big hotels this is a gem. Yes it’s old, (think classic, not decrepit) but fresh paint and clean rooms, no bugs, great AC, hot shower. What more can you ask for.

Staff is very helpful. Great customer service.

This place had a nice atmosphere. The guests are friendly. Great location. New windows, doors closed, locked and sealed. Definitely not a Hilton, but who cares, its owners seem to put all profits back into rooms fixing them up suitably. Nobody getting rich just surviving.

Traveling controls electrician who would stay here again.”

“This hotel is pretty nice has a good view the room is a good size only issue we had was the sliding door was kind of stuck and if you pulled it it wanted to tip over and the attendance are sometimes nowhere to be found at the front desk”
