The security guard is friendly and he means well, but he shouldn't greet everyone that walks in as Sir or Ma'am. What if he gets it wrong? He is basing his assumption of gender through his own prism. His accuracy cannot be 100%. Better to simply say Good Morning and leave it at that. No harm, no foul.

The security guard (I didn’t catch his name) was so friendly! The woman at the front desk was very helpful - she checked me in and highlighted the boxes of the form I needed to fill out. Marcus helped us with a title transfer and the whole process was seamless. He was friendly and patient!
