Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier and more equitable environment through sustainable solutions. Founded by Tara and Justin Hammond, the foundation has over 20 years of experience in clean energy and sustainability. Its mission is to promote positive change for a just and livable future by working with philanthropists, foundations, nonprofits, advocates, and officials to address the climate crisis. The foundation manages the Solar Moonshot grant program, which has helped numerous organizations install solar energy systems. Recipients have found the process straightforward, with clear communication and prompt responses from the Climate Justice Development Manager. From receiving grants to installation, the process has been quick and efficient, even amid delays caused by Covid supply chain issues. Several nonprofits have benefited from Solar Moonshot funding. Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue appreciated the prompt support and helpful guidance during their application. St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church successfully installed a 15 kW solar system, raising awareness and saving on utility costs, which supported their community programs. The Vernon Economic Development Association used the grant for a 100 KW solar array at the Food Enterprise Center, powering essential equipment that provides food to thousands of families in need. Additionally, the Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library in Trempealeau, WI, installed solar panels to promote energy conservation and community resilience. Another project provided housing for survivors of domestic violence, integrating climate solutions with social support. Overall, Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation and its Solar Moonshot program are making significant strides in advancing sustainability, supporting community projects, and fostering a more resilient and equitable future.
We are so grateful for the grant from the Solar Moonshot Grant Program from Hammond Climate Solutions Foundations. The new Home Start multi-family project is providing housing for 5 families who are survivors of domestic violence plus the project is part of the climate change solution.
