“We visited recently to look into purchasing our first fruit tree. Chris, who was super nice, helped us through the whole process and showed us many different options based on what we were looking for. He was very patient and informative, we never felt rushed or brushed off. He walked us through the nursery and gave a lot of great advise and info on how to care for our new additions.
We are looking forward to coming back for our next new addition. This is a great nursery to come and visit. Very clean parking is easy, others were also very laid back and kind.

They often have deals, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a great selection of plants. “Giovanni did it again! I called and spoke with Giovanni today and I was looking to replace my annuals. I asked what he would recommend to replace my impatiens, and he suggested mums, pansies, and vincas for fall. My favorite is impatiens, so I asked if he had any in stock and colors available. He said red, white, orange and a mixture of different colors. I requested him to save the red and white in full flats for me so I could swing by before they close. He said no problem. Upon arrival at the store I asked Giovanni, and to my surprised the red and white impatiens were already on the cart ready to go. I ended buying both colors in full flats and organic top soil as well. He also helped me load the stuff onto my vehicle. I mentioned to him that I would need to replace my fountain soon and he said that they would be on sale late spring and that he would let me know. Another great customer service ? ? from the same guy who helped me when I had a problem with my trumpeter rose tree. Giovanni is such a pleasure to work with coupled with great can-do attitude and professionalism. A great asset to Armstrong Garden Center in Penasquitos. “This nursery is really cute. There are a few chickens that wander around the property, they'll leave you alone but if they're one of your fears, keep that in mind. Parking is only available on the street. That is kind of a bummer. They do have a good variety of plants, and that's adorable. Theyre one of the oldest nurseries in San Diego so bonus points for that. Theyre also a small business. The people are knowledgable and theres a park right across the street too. All in all, I will be back. Thanks!”
“My family and I recently finished the ceramic classes that are held in the store by Ellis. We all had a fantastic time, and made several pieces of functional pottery. He was always available to answer our questions, while still allowing us the freedom to explore our creativity. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about taking these classes. We are already talking about going back for more opportunities to make more things.”
“The PB Southwest Boulder and Stone group was so great to work with. Not only do they have a great selection, but also their customer service is top notch. Ricky took the time on multiple visits to help me find a flagstone that I really liked (and I am picky), and moreover when I finally made a decision, he even took extra time to help me select just the right pieces with the right colors! He made what was a daunting task fun for me. It was incredible customer service from the front desk (shout out Shawna) to the rock yard (is that what it is called?). When/if I need more landscaping materials, this is where I will go and I highly recommend this place.”

“A local favorite! Green Gardens has incredible indoor and outdoor options and even friendlier staff. They were able to deliver a large plant that didn’t fit in my car, which was above and beyond and so appreciated. Their outdoor section is vast and fun to walk through even if you don’t know what you are looking for.Prices are reasonable, though you can likely buy more inexpensively at somewhere like Lowe’s or Home Depot. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely recommend if you are interested in supporting local!”

My husband & I came across her husband at the north park market & purchased two plants. He told us he had a nursery and we decided to stop by today. Our main concern was for grandma's health and wellbeing, so we quickly needed accessories for the portable AC units. “Best prices in town for DG, road 2 base,And many other soils. The rules are you have to wear a hard hat and a bright vest. The soils yard is in the back of the complex and the pay trailer is on your way to the back half way through the grounds. The speed bumps are kinda high so drive slow. Lunch time is usually the best time to go to beat traffic.”

“As a thriller author, I’m always on the lookout for unique tools and ideas to use for my next thriller novel. This Home Depot at Southland Plaza sits in the north section of the Southland Plaza shopping center off Palm Avenue, near the Walmart. Parking is busy most of the time since the whole complex stays packed, but there’s usually a space up close if you loop around once or twice.
I came in to grab a few electrical switches and a replacement handle for my parents’ house. The staff were great, patient, quick to help, and willing to point me right to what I needed.
I’m a thriller author, but in real life I’m usually just fixing things like everyone else. Maybe that’s why I appreciate places like this. There’s something honest about solving problems with your hands instead of words. Keeps me grounded between novels. Solid crew, reliable store, and a little slice of normal life before diving back into the next global mess on the page.”

“Very satisfied with our experience at Moon Valley. We were looking for potted bamboo to add a barrier on our patio between our neighbor’s house and our fence line. Adam helped us select the bamboo plants and select our pots - they had a lot of options at reasonable prices. On the day of planting, George and his crew came as scheduled and took such immaculate care in planting all 5 pots, lining them up evenly along our fence line and cleaning the area once complete. George also thoroughly explained how to care for our plants. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Moon Valley.”
“I was able to rent a snake to undo a shower drainage block. The Home Depot Rental Center on Genesee had a variety of plumber's snakes, which was somewhat fascinating to observe and look at. The staff was very friendly and courteous. This is a great community resource, a bit like the tool rental library when I lived in Berkeley (but funded by individuals rather than the public).”
“I was in the carpet section looking for something for my front yard for a birthday party. Charlie (or Charles I forgot which was his name was) was really great and genuinely cares for his customers. I came looking for a specific item but they didn't have it. He tried calling other stores but they were taking too long and took his time to give me better options. Great guy. He's the reason why this place gets 5 stars. Also, the lady at the cashier in the garden section was very nice and genuine. This place has some really great staff.”
