Sonesta ES Suites San Diego - Sorrento Mesa is recommended for long stays. The hotel has been renovated with a light blue theme, making the lobby, hallways and rooms feel inviting. Rooms are spacious and nice, feeling like a house, with a kitchenette containing all the needs, a good collection of utensils and cookware, and a small but workable stove. Beds are so comfy. The staff is mostly friendly, accommodating, and efficient, making guests feel at home and like a premium guest, though service can vary. The breakfast is good, not great, with an appreciated spread including items like turkey sausage and scrambled eggs in a well-kept area. The location is very convenient and walkable to shops, with a supermarket, Aldi groceries, and lots of restaurants closer by. It is next to a car wash and gas station so it feels busy. Nearby activities include Sea World and San Diego Zoo. The parking lot is good. While remodeling can be evident, the nights are quiet. Overall, it is a good place to stay.
Family friendly hotel, clean, well stocked plenty of amenities. Updates in progress looking forward to the changes.

I am giving 5 start because Miranda in the front desk was really great. She was handling big rush of customers alone answering phone calls etc. Disappointed that rooms were not ready beyond 4:00 pm. Looks like Hotel is scheduling less staff and not catch up with keeping room ready.

Stayed here for a month while my daughter was getting proton radiation treatment a mile and a half away. Great breakfast, spacious & modern room. Friendly staff. Ample parking. Very convenient next to a Shell gas station. Across the street are a bunch of places to eat and an Aldi but we never went.
