The physical post office buildings are often described as spacious and historical in style, though the surrounding areas can be messy, with many homeless individuals present, which can be awkward for foreign tourists. Despite occasional inconsistencies between the official USPS guidelines and the information provided by employees, customers generally appreciate the friendly and attentive service they receive, even when asking many questions. Usually not too busy compared to other locations and the line moves quick. All of them are quite friendly and willing to help. Not the Zombies you get at many other post offices

I used to be able to send a letter in San Diego County, and 8% of the time it would arrive the next day. Registered mail used to be 3-5 days anywhere in USA, now who knows. Prices go up while service goes down.
