Crissy Field Center is a dynamic hub of youth engagement for the Golden Gate National Parks, serving as a model program. Its mission is to encourage new generations to become bold leaders for thriving parks, healthy communities, and a more environmentally just society. Located within the larger Crissy Field area, it is part of a great open space with a fabulous view of the Golden Gate Bridge. This popular area contains a mile of beaches with spectacular views, hiking and cycling trails, and connections to other paths like the Golden Gate Promenade and Lover's Lane Trail. The field is a great spot for basically any outdoor getaway activity. It is perfect for a casual walk, playing at the beach, having a picnic on the grass, going for a run, or flying a kite when the wind picks up. Visitors will see many people jogging, relaxing, and walking their dogs, as it is very dog-friendly. The beaches are popular with dog walkers, windsurfers, and kite surfers. It is also a place to admire maritime traffic in the bay and observe birds, with over 135 species identified in the salt marsh and surrounding area. Historically, the land is the unceded ancestral territory of the Ramaytush Ohlone. After a past as a military airfield and toxic waste site, it was restored by 2001. Today, it is a peaceful and magical park with fresh air, outstanding views, and a relaxing atmosphere for people and dogs alike. It is a favorite spot in the city for travelers and locals to enjoy a great day.
What a great science experience here! I can literally spend a whole day exploring the stones and plants specimens (I’m an adult).

Great. The area from the marina green over to ocean beach at the edge of San Mateo county is just outstanding. Fresh air. Views. People exercising and trying to relax. Even the dogs seem happy which actually may matter more than anything....
