“Great place to pick up Benjamin Moore paints. I order online and pick it up to avoid wait times (which aren’t that long but I always end up leaving with things I didn’t intend on buying ?). Great customer service and they do occasional sales! Grateful this is my neighborhood hardware store.”

“Needed some applewood pellets for my smoker. I called, they told me they stored the pellets away for the season but happy to check to see if they had the applewood. They did and brought up a bag from storage and had it at the counter for me when I came to pick it up. Needed it because I'm making homemade bacon”

I have come here to find pieces of lumber. They are great at cutting lumber to the requested measurements.
The workers are always polite and helpful when it comes to pointing you in the right direction. There is commercial parking right in the front for easy loading. They also have a warehouse right across the street which contains more lumber.

“When our contractor recommended picking up some items for our remodel from Chu Supplies, I initially was dubious - both of the quality of the items the store would have available and the customer service. But I was very happy to be proven wrong on both issues! First, let me help set your expectations. This isn't a big box store like Home Depot where you have easy access to resources (e.g., online guides or in-person staff) to help guide and/or make informed decisions about what to buy. If you have no idea what you need to buy, it probably will be less frustrating for everyone involved if you did some research on your own (or in consultation with your contractor) before going to the store. Having said that, Wallace and Kent at the front counters are great and super helpful! Yes, it helps if you speak Cantonese, but their English (especially Wallace's) is very good. Together, they are the perfect odd "couple" - Wallace has a more easy-going, patient vibe, while Kent is super efficient and straight-to-the-point. As far as I can tell, they carry - or at least, can order - many of the items that you can buy from a big box store for a cheaper price point. From cheaper, generic, hollow core doors to VELUX skylights to high end tankless water heaters, etc. Just keep in mind that each of their locations specialize/carry different categories of products. There may be cheaper options out there, but the combination of location, price, and return policy makes Chu Supplies an excellent choice in my book!”

“I can't believe Benjamin Moore made exactly the same paint as Kelly Moore. I just show the lady the photo and she mix the paint for me. And even better I found a painter there for me. And after we test the paint Benjamin Moore made, the painter said " yeah, this is the right color." Amazing, isn't it ?
Tell you what, the first store I tried to made the same paint was S-W also on Ocean Ave, the guy look at my photo said he can't do it without seeing my actual wall.
So I feel super lucky I tried again in Benjamin Moore, and you know Kelly Moore closed their business forever in Jan, 2024 right ?”
