“Did you know you can buy gold here? Also parking at Costco is always easy even though this one is located in a busy part of SOMA. If you arrive right when they open you might find yourself waiting in a line of people pushing empty carts waiting to get in.”
“Hard to miss this place, "Yellow" building one block east of Bayshore. These guys are real helpful if you know what you need, not so much if you are clueless, remember this is more set up for contractors and people that know what they are doing, can't keep prices reasonable if you are wasting their time, gotta be reasonable, hire a contractor. They have most things you would need as far as electrical, lighting and plumbing including the ability to thread pipes. These guys really know their stuff but you need to meet them halfway. They have some of the best water heater prices around, beats the hell out of the bigger places. They're pretty good on their return policy, especially when they know it takes more time to make multiple trips to get odds and ends than to get every possible piece of material and return what you don't use, in the same pristine condition as it was off the shelf. The guys and gal are a pretty great group of people to do business with and they have coffee. If you are a do it youselfer, they have a pretty good supply of most items you would need.”

“affordable housewares. Many times I have found myself needing things which may cost a mini fortune at target cost what the average person can afford here. As a little plus you can see some cute kitties.(don’t wake them though)”
“The only place I shop for my son 14 stay fitted. Support your community and people born in your likeness. I say and do . Y'all see the girls my son rock with. That's Naughty Fresh!”
“This 5-star rating is specific to one employee in the Tire Center, Nathan. I do not live in SF. I was visiting the city for a celebration when I noticed low tire pressure. More than anything, I dread going to a Costco on the weekend, particularly the SF location with its chaotic parking lot situation. Nevertheless, I did have to fill the low-pressure tires with air and noted that the self-serve air inflation was NOT working for one tire. I was able to ask a Tire Center employee if there was something wrong with the pressurized air device and was notified that it usually means the air pressure of the tire is too low. Since the matter was more than a self-serve situation where I needed additional help, I stood in line at the Tire Center for quite a while to ask one of the other tire staff for guidance: I was lucky enough to have NATHAN. Nathan did kindly advise me to keep the doorway clean, whereas another Tire Staff employee pushed a customer and their cart away from blocking the entrance. Nathan came and looked at my tire; he verified it was a recently purchased Costco tire and quickly found the source of the low pressure: a nail in the rear tire. While there was NO way that the already very busy staff could fix the tire at the moment, Nathan advised me on what to do and helped me to make the best of the situation that was safe for me and others. Nathan was so patient, sensible, and efficient (even when another desperate customer was trying to pull him away, Nathan was respectful to the other person and set him some boundaries: "I will help you next, sir," and he did. Nathan, you are a real one. I hope COSTCO recognize you as an exceptional employee. Costco SF, I tried to post this on your Costco.com website but could not find where to post the compliment, so here it is on Yelp. PS: I tried to tip Nathan, but he would not accept it per company policy.”
“I have to comment that the low star reviews I am seeing here are obviously being made by individuals who do not realize that they are showing up at a wholesale warehouse geared toward serving tradesmen. The fact that McMurray is still even willing to assist people with small walk-in orders is a well appreciated convenience, which is totally lost on these naive reviewers. You can usually learn so much more about the typical negative reviewers themselves thru their self privileged language than any " info" they claim to be sharing about the reviewed business itself. MacMurray Pacific has served me very well as a small shop cabinetmaker for the past 35 years with very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient sales staff and will call individuals. For a long time, they had very little turnover, and the will call guys often moved upstairs to sales, so they apparently treated their workers fairly enough for them to stick around. I sympathize immensely with the businesses that, these days, have to accept that they can be falsely "reviewed" by these clueless self-absorbed hacks. Check out their excellent website, ask for a catalog when you are there, I think they still print one every five years or so, then call in an order for will call and show up with some patience for the fact that you're not the only person they are serving. In my experience, if you are unsure of the most appropriate hardware for your project, a sales person will usually be willing to take the time to give you some advice/ suggestions if you are patient with their time because they are usually very busy with large orders and it's well worth any wait because they have a lot of knowledge about the available hardware.”

“Be aware, the pharmacy closes at 7:30pm M-F even though the store is open later. The staff were very friendly and helpful in getting my last minute prescriptions filled before closing.”
“1. fyi, they accept apple pay. 2. fantastic place to browse/shop. no membership needed, and not everything is costco sized here - you can, for example, buy reasonable sized bottles of condiments/dressings/soy sauce/frozen seafood/juices/spam/corn nuts. yes, I buy my spam and corn nuts from here. prices range from "pretty darn good" to "omgosh I can't believe I can buy this for this cheap". 3. it's really interesting to see what kind of food most restaurants use. I don't think there's a single organic item sold here lol.”
