“This spot is dope. I've come here multiple times for gifts - great spot for birthdays, Christmas, etc. They have a ton of stationery like notebooks, cards, stickers, merch, and the like. They also have an awesome selection of artists' goods in the back of their store, and books in the front. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful, and you can tell the store is very community centered. Love that they provide free masks for those who need them! Everything is pretty reasonably priced, especially for being in this section of Highland Park. I'm always willing to give my money to support small businesses over billionaires, and I hope this store stays around for a while.”

There’s merchandise related to the music performed and for music lovers from a very young audience to the older generations. There are inexpensive and expensive items to choose from. “When I shop for gifts outside of my neighborhood (East Hollywood), Retreat is my go-to. Diane, the owner, has curated a wonderful collection of jewelry, art prints, cards and fun gifts for virtually any occasion. Despite this shop's relatively small size, it is packed with goodies. My go-to is always the card section, where I invariably find a card for an upcoming birthday or, even better, the perfect card for a friend who could use a pick-me-up or a good laugh. My stationary drawer is packed with Retreat cards that I've got on the ready and I am very grateful. There is a great range of options in terms of price. You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. If you are looking a bit higher-end, there is a lovely collection of jewelry: but you are definitely paying for quality work that will be appreciated. Diane and the various employees are invariably friendly and eager to help you find something perfect for your friend or family.”

“Cute store packed full of so many sanrio items! They had figurines, clothing, backpacks, mirrors, plushies, sock, blind boxes, keychains and so much more! I was surprised to see a lot of rarer sanrio characters that are less popular sold at this store, like chococat, hangyodon, and my sweet piano! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I was also really happy to see that they had blind boxes that had already been opened, as I personally like to know what I am getting.”

“Ordered an arrangement on valentines day morning to be delivered (yeah I'm that guy). Wound up driving to pick up order around 6PM since I was worried it wasn't going to get delivered. Staff was very kind and helpful in spite of the craziness. Quickly found my order under a valentines day avalanche of flowers and fancy fruits and sent me on my way. Wife and daughter loved it.”
