“Not from the area, first time to the restaurant, found it on OpenTable, surprised by the odd location but the food was remarkably good, service was great too. Our server was very attentive and I was able to fund plenty of vegetarian options.”

Very convenient.Food & drinks: Elements restaurant serves nothing but gourmet food. Especially their teriyaki and chicken plate was mouthwatering. The bacon burger was legit!”

“My family was welcomed by very friendly staff at the front desk. She explained all amenities and offers that I can take advantage of using my Amex Plat. The room was very spacious and very quiet throughout 3 night stays. This place also offer a heated outdoor pool with jacuzzi. The Pasadena neighborhood was also very safe and clean. One downside is that the bathroom is a bit old and the toilet was quite noisy when flushed.”

“Food 3 stars, location 5. We have been here at the hotel several times for a variety of functions such as weddings and business meetings, but that was about 10 or more years ago. We recently stopped by to begin celebrating a special day with lunch at the Terrace and a walk about the hotel and take a peak at the new pool they're building. The hotel itself is very dramatic. We had the fish & chips and the shrimp ceviche as nothing else interested us other than the two Manhattans which were very good. We subbed truffled chips for a few dollars more. I was however surprised at the limited lunch menu as it was busy for lunch. All other hotel dining locations were closed till dinner. It's always worth the $15 parking fee with validation or $25 just to look around this historic hotel as nothing in the LA area can compare to it. Also a great weekend getaway.”

“One of the nicest & cleanest hotel in the area. Lobby decor left a feeling of old school grand hotels. They had free water & coffee in the lobby. Did I mention the coffee machine can make speciality coffee (like: cappuccino, latte or hot chocolate) & the water has some great flavors. Rooms were clean & had new furnitures. One of the few hotels who still have jacuzzi. It’d be great if they had a pool as well, but that’s not a deal breaker for me.They were going through renovation, but I didn’t mind much. I understand, at a point most of the establishments have to go through that, maybe that’s why it didn’t bother me much. Fortunately, we were out most of the day & missed the noise :)Parking was $15+tax, kinda hefty, but standard for this area. Parking entrance was locked at night, so I felt secured. Much better than parking on the street. They also had plenty of spots available, so I didn’t have to worry about finding one.Found a great deal on their website & took a chance. Am I glad that I did! Thanks to the front desk team for welcoming me with warm smiles & housekeeping team for making sure my stay went great!”

Photos are mainly from walking. Swimming pool hotel, but we were there during Pineapple Express, so we didn't get to go SwimmingFood & drinks: There wasn't much choice of food in the restaurant but it was good. You can get food delivered if you need/want.Noteworthy details: They went above and beyond for service.... very nice”

“Hotel is in a quiet residential area, rooms are clean, and staff is very pleasant. Mini fridge in the room, and parking is only $5 dollars. Also the hotel rate per night, is below average for the area, 100% recommend!”

“I booked this hotel because of the location, which is very convenient if you have a car, you make like 20-30 minutes everywhere in Los Angeles, which is very nice. The hotel exceed my expectation, everything was clean, and all the employees where paying attention to details. Front desk people explain me everything I need to know. You can park your car in a safe place, they also have a security person for this. The area it looked safe and with some fast food restaurants nearby, you have a highway also nearby which is convenient. Room was big and clean, with quality towels and sheets. I like the dispensers for the shampoo, soap, conditioner, which is very convenient. They provide coffee and water in the room. Housekeeping was cleaning our room everyday, change the towels and also they make the bed. Breakfast was delicous, they have a menu for every single day, which you can see in the breakfast area. A lot of choices from scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, yogurt, fruits, waffles. I like that you can make your personalized yogurt or waffles because they offer a lot of toppings ( chocolate chips, coconut flakes, candies, almonds and many more ). Coffee is very good also.So breakfast is exceptional and the persos who work there are very nice and helpful.Disliked · I didn't like the tip option, which is with a QR code, they can also have the traditional tip envelope where you can leave money.Per total is a nice hotel clean hotel, with friendly employees and a good location. Price is very good also for Los Angeles.”

“I stay here every year when I run the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. The rooms are a bit dated (like me), but charming (I hope like me). Very clean, convenient parking and pleasant lobby. Definitely reminds me of California in the 1960's (in a good way). Very nice and helpful staff. Quiet at night.”

“Worse customer service ever, there not even on the same page with their own employees and supposably managers, each hotel webpage has a dictionary of contact information regarding complaints and booking and there page had no number or any info, do not book , hate this place , overpriced, Vegas hotels are way better and know how to handle at types of issue..”

“Based on my recent experiences staying in various motels and hotels in Arcadia and East Pasadena area, this Best Western inn provides the most balance of comfort, convenience, and cost. If it weren't for the inadequate bathtub drain in my room and unsatisfactory experience with lobby counter staff, I would've bumped this review up to 5 stars based on the value. ・Price The $100~120 post-Covid price range for a single person was reasonable, considering that even bare-minimum budget motels in this area costs $90~100 a night. Note that there's another BW Royale Inn right next door which has the higher $150~200 price point, so be sure not to get these two BWs mixed up when booking. ・Room Very clean room, furnitures in good shape. Comfortable soft king-size bed. Room lighting is not too dim. Closet comes with many hangers, ironing board, clothes iron No pests spotted during 5-day stay. Nightstand lamps have outlets and USB ports. Functional air conditioner, small fridge, and cable TV. Wifi was at least adequate for watching 1080p Youtube live streams. Towels were soft and very well-stocked. Two tissue boxes, one by nightstand and one at the sink. Two trash cans. Bathroom was adequate and supplied with soap, conditioner, and shampoo. I might've been unlucky because the bathtub's drain in my room didn't work very well and kept getting clogged by my long hair strands. The drain also doesn't close fully, so the tub itself had trouble holding in bathwater. ・Amenities Free parking with ample spaces in the lot, though the more convenient side gate on the small street is closed at night. No vagrants or loud noises aside from street traffic. The complementary continental breakfast has decent selection: scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereals, orange juice, coffee, orange, apple, banana, yogurt, small pancake maker, toasted waffles and bread, packaged danishes and muffins. No bacon or ham. 2% milk only; no soy milk if you're lactose-intolerant like me. The breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive. She was the most pleasant staff member I interacted with at this inn. There was a sizable swimming pool, which I didn't use. Laundry room's washer and dryer charged very reasonable fees comparable to laundromats, and of course detergent costs extra. No exercise room, which I didn't need. ・Service Don't expect the lobby staff to voluntarily ask or tell you anything. If you want any sort of AAA discount or even BW's own membership offers, you must ask about them yourself. For whatever reason, I wasn't allowed to reserve multiple days in advance at the lobby counter and was repeatedly told at the counter I had to book everyday in order to extent my stay. It wasn't until this inn had no vacancy left that I found out I could've booked multiple days if I had done so through BW's website. Needless to say, I was quite irked that none of the lobby receptionists bothered to inform me of this even though I had already expressed my desire to stay longer. ・Location Good location near the 210 freeway, convenient for driving to Universal Studio or Rose Bowl. Somewhat close to the nearest Metro rail station that connects to Downtown LA. Several restaurant options within 15~30 mins walking distance. Within reasonable driving distance to Old Town Pasadena or Arcadia Mall and racetrack.”

“One of those safety locks would be a great addition actually. Clean rooms tho had a bit of a smell to it. We got there hours earlier and were able to pay extra to check in early which I was relieved about as I didn't want to be traveling with luggage, very nice service at the front desk. Plenty of parking with a lot of illumination.”

“I was looking for a cheap place to stay for a week to be nearby for a theater competition And I chose this place because honestly the other place I wanted were already booked. At first, I was a bit nervous about this place because of a few reviews I had seen but after being there in person, I can with 100% honestly say that those reviews do not apply. I was extremely happy with my stay. The room was very nice and clean, I only spoke to the staff twice during my stay during check-in and check out and they were very nice. If I had to stay in Glendale again for some reason, I would definitely come back.Rooms: The rooms were a lot nicer in person than I was expecting from the photos and reviews I had seen. I was very happy with my room! Had all the essentials I needed and didn’t even realize I needed!Walkability: You could easily walk to multiple places if you need something like the dollar king, some fast food, restaurants and I was able to easily walk to and from the bus stops I needed to go to while traveling.Food & drinks: There’s a vending machine on site for drinks, and I really appreciated that. I used it constantly.”

“Amazing experience here. The staff is very friendly! We spent a bit of time this morning talking to a very sweet woman while enjoying the continental breakfast (which is 10x better than any other continental breakfast I’ve had before). The King suite was very clean when we arrived and very accommodating for our one-night stay. We ultimately needed to extend our stay one more day, and the staff made it a super simple process. The location is pretty good as well, with a Target just a few minutes down the street for any essentials, and also Tesla superchargers nearby in case you need to charge your car. Great view of the mountains from our window as well. Would definitely stay here again.Safety: The parking lot is fairly open, so I would definitely be sure to lock your car.”

“Nice hotel. Very clean rooms. The bar is great. You can have your dinner and drinks without leaving the hotel. Our company had award ceremonies and Christmas events. The nice thing is the outlets and the commerce casino. Be close and yet a little far for comfort.Rooms: Clean and nice layoutSafety: It is definitely safe.Walkability: You can drive to the casino or to LA. Close and yet far from traffic.Food & drinks: Love the selection. Prices are competitive, not cheap or expensive, just right.”

“The service at this hotel will absolutely exceed your expectations. The food always comes out at the perfect temperature, even after hours, the staff take great care of all of their guests. The check in clerk Di was fantastic during check in. The bar staff Elena and Sinjin really know how to treat guests with an exceptional level of hospitality. The restaurant staff each night between 3PM and 9PM Monday- Thursday hit the mark every night. Not one dish came out which did not meet or exceed the expectations, with the kitchen and servers both being exceptionally friendly and very clearly skilled. Two of them even remembered my name, and what I requested the night before for a drink. Andrew had an exceptional taste and culinary passion, as well as being really fun to talk with.I spend over 100 nights a year in Marriott hotels alone, and I can honestly say this experience and level of hospitality with the staff is really incredible.Even on mornings where I had been running behind wrapped up in a meeting that ran too late at 6:00AM, the valley staff would have my car out front and ready to go within minutes of requesting my car (one time I was in the elevator and the car was out front before I got there). Not only was it exceptional, but it was consistent every single day, across the entire team. The pool area and nearby locations, as well as outside patio area and local amenities were also very well maintained, and the location was really nice for a walk. The fitness center was clean and pleasant to use.My only complaint was the in room coffee maker, and the light switches which would not turn on or off very easily at all. Both of which could easily be user error.Well done. ?. Seriously, exceptionally well done.”

“Absolutely love this hotel. The staff is always great, as is the location. This is a very new property, located right by the Montebello Golf Course. Most rooms on the west side of the hotel offer spectacular views of the golf course and downtown Los Angeles in the background.Update for 2024: Have been back many times and always great service and hotel still looking great! My recent stay, Joseph and David at the front desk were both fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure I had another great stay! Ulices helped me out too with some copies saving me a trip to the FedEx store. And so refreshing having daily housekeeping. Not a lot of hotels offer that anymore without having to request. Always a nice touch coming back to a refreshed room! ?”

“SERVICE & CHECKINCheckin was slow as molasses (so much paperwork) ontop of the long wait for a room to become available. When early checkin IS available it will cost you $50 (a bit excessive). Valet parking cost $10/night. There are also resort fees: $10/night. Tap payment wasn't available.Front desk is very lively, helpful, & also multilingual. Not pet friendly.LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORSThe lobby is large but still felt congested due to some of the design decisions, orientation, & seating. Elevators were slower than expected but are sufficiently spacious, with multiple functional lifts. The corridors were ornate & have a very pleasing color pattern. ROOM (guest room & suite)We tried the double queen guest room & a suite. We found both configurations to be comfortably spacious, with a high degree of cleanliness & ample storage for our extended stay. The design of the rooms is generally just really impressive with a lot to appreciate: high-ceilings, a myriad of seating options, great natural+overhead lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows, clear views across the city, blackout curtains ergonomic workspaces, & plush hotel stock.Nothing I can think to complain about... BEDThe mattresses are more soft than firm, which I don't usually enjoy but the bedding was too good to protest. Soft, cozy, clean, & better than most brands with self-described "premium" bedding. One thing I didn't love was the choice of metal/aluminum base; just too noisy & atypical.BATHLavish & indulgent bathroom designs in guest rooms & suites, with some of the most impressive shower installations I've experienced in my last ~70 stays: high quality fixtures, tile, & accents all throughout. No pre-stocked shower sets but there's a plethora of Whish toiletries provided for your convenience. The bath robes are also with the hassle of requesting.Yet It's not without a few flaws: towels are on the smaller side, the water pressure is a bit weak, & the OSFA slippers did not fit me (size 11)TV & ENTERTAINMENT42" LG HD flatscreen on swivel base (guest room) or rotating entertainment center (suite). The entertainment setup in the suite was more fashionable than functional; not as accommodating as the guest room counterpart. Most of the built-in services didn't work & other integrations wouldn't connect. I wish they did less with the set top box because the apps are a hassle.WI-FI & CELL RECEPTIONComplimentary WiFi is unencrypted but performs very well! Solid for work & streaming. Verizon cell service was adequate & reliable in the building/area.--Nerd Stats--56-81 Mbps download 36-46 Mbps upload0% packet loss9 ms latency3 ms jitter--Performance--Video streaming - goodOnline gaming - averageVideo chatting - good FOOD & DRINKStarbucks is no longer on-property, which is disappointing but thankfully it's a DoorDash friendly location. Rooms are equipped with the status quo mini coffee bar & a medium mini fridge. There's a restaurant onsite but it's not particularly accommodating for multiple food allergies so we didn't partake in room service this time. If you're craving junk food, there's also a mini market in the lobby.NOISEThe sound proofing is solid. It doesn't completely dampen the city noise found in downtown LA (police, ambulance, etc) but it does a good enough job.LOCATIONLots of convenience stores & restaurants within walking distance. There's varying amounts of un-homed that roam in the vicinity but there's a consistent security presence nearby. VERDICTDespite the spa still being (indefinitely) closed, I enjoyed this property WAY more than I expected & extended my stay a number of times. It's a feature rich hotel with plenty of indulgences & I highly recommend it for your next staycation. 4.5/5 Room walkthrough videos:Guest Room: youtube.com/shorts/kfTIj…Suite: youtu.be/4yrpo3Of0uA?fea…”
