“Very cool little store with lots of baked goods! We stopped by while driving up to Big Sur, and it was definitely worth the stop. The garlic artichoke bread was amazing, and I also got an apple crisp that was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!”

“While on my search for the best sandwich in California, I've been know to drive 3 to 5 hours in my quest. So, when Fats Marlow the Tuba player for the SF Symphony told me about Cunha's Country Store in the Bay with only a half of a moon I thought about it a little and headed straight to Half Moon Bay! And....Fats was right, the simple ham sandwich was Amazing!

“I didn't expect to find lunch here, so I was stoked when I saw the vegan BLT. But they actually also had vegan salami and vegan turkey, too. I got a vegan salami sandwich, and it was great! The salami is a bit closer in taste/texture to bologna, but still good, and the sandwich is made fresh like a normal deli sandwich. Really happy I stumbled on this place.”
“I always come here to get special craft drinks and snacks. The cashier is always nice and treats us like we are friends. They have convenient parking The only recommendation I have for them is to post their entire fridge menu on DoorDash, if possible, and publicize their menu more frequently.”
“When I was here, the bathroom worked fine and the staff was quite friendly. They even did me a favor, to let me park overnight because I was having car trouble. Maybe it just comes down to the individual employees, but as of February 2026 they seem to be reasonable. And seriously, it's a convenience store gas station on the side of the highway. Not the ritz-carlton. I'm confused what some of these other angry reviewers were expecting. A foot rub with your latte, madame? The privilege is real.”
“We were staying in Half Moon Bay on vacation (6/8-6/13). We made a few trips to the store while we were in town. Everything was easy to find. The staff were super helpful. I wish I could remember the names of the people who checked us out. Each of them were so friendly. The woman working in the bakery on 6/10 was top notch!”

“Over the years I have stopped & shopped here many times, being born and raised in the Bay Area I know Safeway very well. This is an older Safeway but, extremely clean and well maintained. Store is well stocked with the usual items. Lots of free parking. Good deli selection. The day we stopped customer service was good... Covid protocols being followed, masks being worn, some employees wearing gloves. customers required to wear masks. Clean carts. Social distancing enforced.”

“If you're looking for the perfect New Year's Day vibe, look no further. We stopped by the San Gregorio General Store on January 1st and it was absolutely the place to be. Live band playing, energy was high, and the whole atmosphere just felt like a celebration.
There's something special about this spot. It's got that old-school general store charm but comes alive with music and community. Everyone was in great spirits, the band was fantastic, and it reminded me why these hidden coastal gems are worth the drive.
Can't wait to come back on another weekend with live music. If you haven't been, make the trip.”
