The Four Points by Sheraton San Jose Downtown is a centrally located hotel in the heart of downtown, adjacent to many restaurants, bars, and events. It is within easy walking distance to the SAP Center, San Jose Convention Center, and the San Jose Civic Theater. The hotel has undergone a recent renovation of its lobby, hallways, and all guest rooms, resulting in a decor that satisfies many guests and provides a bit of a boutique feel. The staff at the desk is frequently described as friendly, kind, and helpful. Rooms are consistently noted as being clean, compact, and small, with all expected facilities, though they lack some sensible features like bathroom towel racks and comfortable seating. Noise can be an issue for some, stemming from VTA trains and trolleys in the early morning, jet overhead, street noise, and occasionally loud in-room refrigerators, which can make sleep troublesome. The hotel's safety measures include a locked exterior after 9PM and keycard-operated elevators, though the stair access and connected restaurant door can circumvent this security. A significant point of contention is pricing clarity. The room cost is not always clear upfront, with final bills often much higher due to taxes, fees, and a mandatory $42 per day parking charge, which is not included in the initial quote. Some guests also experienced frustrating issues with incidental holds and charges. The onsite restaurant bar gets busy and is not open for breakfast, but there are plenty of close-by dining options, though late-night choices are limited. While the hotel lacks other amenities, it provides comfortable beds and pillows. Overall, for its price and excellent location, many find it offers incredible value and a place to which they would definitely return.
I would not stay at this hotel again for work travel. It's fine if you need an affordable place to stay for personal travel, but with the nature of business travel (plans change, reservations need to be edited) there was no flexibility in working with me on a penalty change incurred because of our corporate booking system.

It’s an older hotel but clean and acceptable. Great location in the downtown area. Do not eat at Mosaic the attached restaurant it’s terrible.
