The Dancing Cat is San Jose's first creative space and cat lounge, designed for both people and cats. It features between 7 and 11 adorable, adoptable cats living in a cage-free environment, allowing guests to interact with them during hourly visits. Reservations are required, and visitors must be ages five and up. As a nonprofit organization, The Dancing Cat aims to find homes for at-risk adult cats from the San José Animal Care Center.
Visitors often describe their experience as wonderful, noting the welcoming, clean, and thoughtfully designed space. The cats are friendly and approachable, making it a perfect place for those who miss their pets or cannot have cats at home due to allergies. The Dancing Cat also offers event space for book clubs, corporate gatherings, baby showers, and birthday parties.
In addition to cat interactions, the organization hosts various programs, including yoga and concerts, allowing guests to enjoy activities in the company of the cats. The staff is dedicated and works hard to improve the lives of stray cats in Santa Clara County, making The Dancing Cat not only a fun destination but also a place committed to animal welfare.
The Dancing Cat Adoption Lounge is currently closed due to damage from an SUV crashing into the building. They still have many adaptable cats and kittens in foster homes, and would be more than happy to try to find the right one to be part of your life.
