Ortega Animal Care Center
27341 Ortega Hwy., San Juan CapistranoWow. This facility went above and beyond for us in a time of desperation. Andrea the manager is a true rockstar. Long story short, our cats were sprung on them last minute with little notice due to the other boarding facility neglecting to inform me of their situation. Andrea came to the rescue and took care of everything. Reassured me the cats would be well taken care of and we need not worry about a thing. She was very communicative the whole week and also drove the cats back down to us herself. While the cats did arrive back to me a bit dirty, I completely understand because they were stressed out and wouldn’t be very cooperative with the staff. But the staff and Andrea did everything within their power to give the cats the best care possible. Andrea deserves a promotion and pay raise for sure. Thank you!

The doctors at Mission are also treating Shadow for a chronic hoof condition. Very professional and wonderful with their patients.

I have a German Shepard husky mix and a lab/husky mix who can both get too excited, loud, and play a little hard but Paul has been so patient with them both! He corrects them when needed and they always come home listening a little better to me. Terrah is also THE nicest person, always a smile on her face and answers any and all your questions when it's not too crazy busy. Can't thank them enough!

Came back the second time with some friends.
1. Pear Favor cocktail: 4/5 - great, well balanced with flavors, sweetness and citrusy. I would prefer some spicy.
2. Cob Salad: 3.5/5 - good but lacked of flavors. The dressing was so bland, needs acidity, salt and pepper. Otherwise, it would be terrific.
3. Burger: 3.5/5 - good but I missed the umami, lacked of the charred smoky flavor.
4. Thai curry dish: 2.5/5 - ok, too sour and abit salty. The acidity overpowered everything else.
The service was good.

Even though the heat lamp was on, it was still on the cold side. Through no fault of the restaurant, being outside on the patio facing the street, a car horn was going off for about 5 minutes which was very annoying. The waiter made several mistakes, I asked for no bacon on the salad and it came with bacon. My friends were half way done with their salad by the time my replacement came. The entree was very good, Tandoori shrimp, very tasty and unusual. I had asked for separate checks when we placed our order but when he brought the bill it was all on one check so he had to go back and redo it. I liked the food but not sure I'd go back. The menu didn't have a ton of options for vegetarians and I wouldn't want to get stuck eating outside if it was cold again. My friends enjoyed their meal as well.

Everyone is a volunteer and does this simply to help the massive pet crisis happening right now. I volunteer with this organization and feel these people are some of the most dedicated group of volunteers I have ever met. Maybe find something else to do or how about get off your butts and do what they do before you criticize groups like this.
