“I had a great experience with Fast Automotive Center in San Marcos. After an oil change, I noticed an oil leak around the drain plug, and they inspected it and found that the threads in my oil pan were coming out. Instead of immediately telling me I needed an expensive oil pan replacement, they rethreaded the pan and installed a 14mm drain plug as a more affordable solution.
I really appreciated that they took the time to explain the situation and were upfront that the oil pan may eventually need to be replaced if the repair doesn’t hold. That kind of honesty and transparency is exactly what I look for in a mechanic.
The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and focused on finding a practical solution rather than simply selling me the most expensive repair. They helped me avoid an unnecessary expense for now, and I really appreciate that.

“My husband needed a smog check for his car. Because it was a Saturday, I had to call around to multiple places. I had originally called here and it went to voicemail. I didn't leave a message and continued down the list of smog check places. A few minutes later, Leon called me back and asked what he could help with. He stated that the shop was not open on weekends but he would open for us to get a smog check. How amazing is that! When we got there, Leon quickly took care of the smog check and then also did an oil change for us, all on a Sunday! We have found our new mechanic! Our service was very reasonably priced too! I will recommend Hi Tech Auto & Smog to anyone who asks!”

“I’ve never written a review for a company that turned my business away but here goes.
I had been told by 2 large repair chains that I needed immediate strut and control arm replacement and was quoted over $2k for the repair by both. I also had a ticking noise from the engine area neither could diagnose. Nervous to drive, trying to figure out how I was going to afford the repair, and how serious both were I made an appt to drop it off for an evaluation. I was referred by my girlfriend who has been going there for years and swore by Richard’s knowledge and honesty. When I got there to drop it off for the day he immediately had it test driven and within 30 minutes they had figured out both issues. I learned the ticking was not engine related and the strut/control arms are far from an immediate concern. I drove away completely relieved. He also quoted me a cost much lower than the other 2.
Of course I will bring the car to him when the time comes, but knowing how hard it is to find a repair shop with this level of knowledge and integrity compelled me to put my experience out there for others trying to figure out where to go to read. Thanks guys!!”

He will take the time to explain the mechanics and how or why something is not functioning properly. Plus jonny does not use cheap parts- always OEM parts for my Toyota. If your car needs something that his shop does not offer, he will refer you to others he trusts yo take care of you! My 2005 Nissan has over 250k on it only because Lu and his crew have been there for every thing it could possibly need. He has replaced the radiator, spark plugs, ABS sensors, O2 sensors, pads, rotors, fluids, wheel bearings, igniter coils, struts, shocks, fan clutch, coolant hoses, belts, fuel tank level sensors, power steering and many more things over the course of the life of the car, and every time he has done a great job, and the bill regularly comes in lower than I'd expect.
He is honest with his work, his recommendations, and his feedback. I cant recommend his shop enough.”

“I met Xavi through his colleague, Henry, who does superb window tinting in the same shop. I told Xavi I was planning to wrap my new X5 M50i with PPF. I wanted that new BMW frozen metallic black color. Xavi spent a good 1-2 hours with me our first chat. He is something of a BMW master. Knows all the ins and outs more than anyone I’ve ever met before. He walked me through the all the details, gave me the recommendations on what to do, what parts to wrap/not wrap, the parts that can come off vs not come off, and the horror stories he’s seen when shops don’t know what parts are easy to remove and breaks parts on the vehicles. Let me tell you when I did my research, I spoke to at least 25 different shops in OC and SD to inquire about their PPF jobs, quotes, timing, every little thing. I definitely found a couple good shops but Xavi was the one who stood out the most. He just seem to care, if that makes sense. His passion for his work and his humility really shines through.
He had my car for about 11 days and he updated me every step of the way. Sent little blips of the process here and there to get me excited. He asked questions along the way to make sure he was doing exactly what I envisioned and gave recs if I was unsure. He even had me come back 1-2 weeks after I picked it up to make sure everything looked good.
Can’t recommend Xavi for PPF or auto detailing enough. Good guy, honest, fair, attention to detail, knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares. His response time is also super fast, which is very much appreciated. My car was nice before but he took it to another level. ?
