“I just joined F45 and LOVE it! I have tried all workouts like Barrys, Soul Cycle, Orange Theory, been a member of Equinox and Crunch and more and this just fits exactly what I need! I thrive in a group atmosphere and the community here is amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I also love that it's a phenomenal workout at only 45 minutes! I'm a mother of two kids and need to be efficient with my time, but also prioritize myself to stay in shape!! Love all the trainers here.. Ami, Mike, Leslie and Aimee! So happy to be a part of the F45 fam!”

“I have been training at Opex San Juan for almost a year and a half. During a recent work/vacation trip to San Francisco, I s for in the atea anound Opex Kura. Melissa promptly answered all my questions and welcomed me to visit her gym. All the equipment and machines are in excellent conditions and neatly organized. Furthermore, the floor coaches, Melissa and Josh, were astounding…those kind of trainers that not only advise you on the adequate position for your exercises, but further explain why, when and where you should move, push, extend, and feel the pressure. Definitely, having other Opex gyms focused on individualized training (not a crossfit box) while traveling is another benefit for joining this community. Thanks Melissa and Josh!!!”

“I found Morph Fitness online when I was looking into getting my fitness and diet on track. I'm so grateful I didn't let my hesitancy stop me from meeting with Wayne for my initial assessment. It's been two months with Wayne now and it's been one of the best decisions of my life and truly transformative.Wayne not only possesses an exceptional level of expertise in fitness and nutrition but also has an unmatched ability to tailor workouts to my specific needs and goals. His personalized approach ensured that every session was challenging yet achievable, pushing me to surpass my limits and reach new heights. I especially appreciated the attention to rehabbing old injuries and focusing on weaknesses I didn't know existed.I've attempted many diets before and unsurprisingly none of them stuck. Wayne's diet program is simple and approachable but incredibly effective. The easy-to-follow guardrails are exactly what a diet requires and made it a success for both me and my wife. Eight weeks in and I'm down 16 lbs of FAT, upped my muscle mass by 2 lbs, and all confirmed by a DEXA scan yesterday! For reference, my starting point was 154 lbs and somewhere between 18-22% body fat. Thanks to Wayne, I have not only transformed my body but also gained a newfound confidence and strength that extends far beyond the gym walls. His commitment to my success has truly been genuine, and I cannot thank him enough for helping me achieve my goals. If you're looking for a personal trainer who is not only knowledgeable and skilled but also truly cares about your progress and well-being, look no further than Wayne. He is simply the best in the business, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Wayne!”

“I have been taking classes from Kelly (HIIT, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, Spin...etc) for years. I am the type that needs the class to be fun, filled with good music, and throw in a few laughs. Her classes check all the boxes, and the group/community there is a huge bonus. She is great at encouraging you to push yourselves, but the classes allow you the flexibility to dial up or down the intensity based on your comfort level or how you feel that day ;). I highly recommend giving this place a try. I find fitness is important for the health of your mind and body. I leave my classes here feeling like I have achieved both.”

“I've been working out here 4x a week for the last month from around 9-11am. It's basically always nearly empty, which I love. They have all of the barbells, bumper plates, training plates, many squat racks and lifting benches and all of the machines I'd consider using. If you like to lift it's basically perfect. The environment is more chill and personal than a. Corporate gym but less pressure than a personal training only gym. I have been doing the semi private training which is ideal for helping me get back into lifting after a 10 year break. I didn't know what semi private training is; it's not a class, it just means they get you all set up and check in form and help with workout design and check in on you several times during your workout and see if you have questions and are using good form but they aren't hovering over you every minute of the workout (which I did not like from personal training in the past.) there are personal trainers and their clients from time to time and they seem to have fun but that's not really my thing. I expect that in 6 months or so I will have a solid foundation and will transition to a regular gym membership here. It's great to have that flexibility.”

“As a student, this is the best place you can learn Taekwondo in the entire Bay Area. The instructors are amazing and the club is one where you have to really earn your rank.”

“Five Rings Cycling Center is the only proper cycling gym in the Bay Area. It is led by a professional cycling coach with 30+ years of experience, who has trained 500+ Bay Area cyclists. I think, everyone on Old Cañada Road knows Dmitry. If you want to receive professional coaching and mentoring, learn proper cycling skills to cycle fast and far, and improve your strength and conditioning, you won't find a better place in the area. Also, Dmitry loves working with and developing juniors. Bring your kids too. His studio/gym is conveniently located next to the San Mateo Caltrain station. To train, you will need a road bicycle with cycling computer, cadence meter, and heart rate monitor. You, may leave you bike at the studio. I would highly recommend Dmitry and his cycling studio/gym.”

“I just joined today and was greeted by Jovi. I just wanted to look around the gym to see what sort of equipment they had. Jovi was knowledgeable and very helpful understanding the different memberships. I'm excited to work out there and will give an update at a later time.”

“Mark at The Bar is one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and focused trainers I've trained with. He designs his workout sessions with the specific goals of his customers in mind. Mark keeps track of the progress you make during the sessions as well as checking on your eating habits outside the gym hours. One of the most important realizations he helped me realize was that my eating habits need significant change to make better progress at the gym.A huge advantage of working out with Mark is that he is fine with rescheduling classes if something comes up last minute. Finally it's important that I have fun in the gym -- and Mark has this great energy that keeps me motivated. I leave the gym totally crushed yet energized!!!”

“Super enjoyed being a part of Doug’s class tonight! Coming in from out of town, he made class fun and engaging and shared some travel tips about the area too. Everyone in the studio was so kind and let me keep my carryon up front during class. Thanks for a great first time in San Mateo! :)”

“This is basically an ode to Megan Pham, who has been my trainer for about 8 months now. I joined SMAC because I was in a lot of pain due to horrible posture coupled with my scoliosis. I had no experience in gyms past cardio machines and honestly didn't know how to exercise outside of team sports. Megan has transformed my body. My back hurts less, I stand straighter, and I'm nicely toned to boot. Most importantly, I have a much better relationship to exercise due to her encouragement, knowledge, and pure passion for what she does. Megan is so good at her job that I encouraged my mom to start training with her too. We are very different in age, body type, and fitness goals, but my mom loves her too. When it comes to the facilities, I'm a gym novice so I can't compare too much. However, the facilities are clean and I rarely have to wait long for a machine. Only one guest has ever spoken to me. He was hitting on me in a way I didn't like, but when I told Megan about it later she told me that if anyone does anything like that and I tell a staff member, they'll kick the creep out. Every other guest has been kind and courteous, and if I need help lifting/moving something, someone always helps immediately. Almost every guest wipes down machines and equipments after use. The staff has been nothing but nice to me. Someone always welcomes me when I come in and wishes me well as I walk out. I would agree with other reviewers who state that the gym attracts an older, more refined, not as athletic crowd. I don't mind. I feel safe and no one bothers me. It's clean and quiet and I don't feel judged if I'm lifting light weights. If you're a powerlifter, SMAC probably doesn't have the vibe you're looking for, but for a casual or novice gym-goer, SMAC is perfect.”

“This is not your ordinary 24/7 Snap facility. It is clean. The equipment is well cares for. The owner invest in their clients needs. The training available is the best, most knowledgeable and result focused. The members are all considerate and mature. I love training here even though I have a Snap 5 minutes from my house I drive because it is worth it.”

“Love the gym! It’s so clean and nice. I love coming here to workout everyday! Machines are always working, pool is nice, khiels products are nice. Only thing I would change is to extend the hours!! I wish the gym would run a little bit later because I get off late sometimes, and the weekend hours are not long enough to have a good long workout then. And the only other thing I would add is a hot tub and a sauna. Overall the gym is great and I think it’s worth the price.”

“I've gone to a few other 24 hour fitness gyms in the area and the one in San Mateo is definitely my favorite. I go everyday after work and it's the only one that's really open 24 hours and that makes it the best to work in with my schedule. It's very open and always at a very comfortable temperature.”

“Danny and his training staff are AMAZING - friendly, informed, and full of positive energy. Both me and my wife did personal training with Shinta, Danny, and Britanny. Not being able to work out here was my #1 regret when moving out of Foster City.”
