“Lowest cost , fastest repair done in many years, on my 1989 Dodge Ram B250 Van Roadtek 89D190V Camper conversion. It was losing coolant but I could not see we're it was coming from. When I dropped it off at the end of the day for them to look at next day, Chuck (?) dug into it straight away determined to be able to give me an idea of what needed to be done. Within 10 minutes he had located a pin hole leak in a heater hose. Next day by noon I got the word that all heater hoses and clamps had been replaced, and I emwas out the door for under $400.

“I legitimately considered not leaving a review, because once more people learn about this shop and its owner (Tony), things are going to be too busy to get my vehicle in for work haha. I had been hearing a screeching from what I believed to be the front right of my vehicle (metal on metal) and knew it wasn’t a pad or rotor and had decided it was a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. I called Northern Stars Auto at my father’s recommendation and described my issue. Tony ordered my right wheel bearing (warned me that I might need to do both left and right, but didn’t push my decision at all) and told me to be there as early as I could, so he could get everything done in one day. He was concerned that I was driving from Healdsburg and didn’t want me to have to make multiple trips and waste my time. Not only was I wrong about my diagnosis, but Tony very quickly found that it was my drive shaft assembly that had failed. I figured I was out of luck and would have to wait days for the part and for Tony to have time to do the work; nope. In 15 minutes, tony had found an aftermarket option, placed an order that would arrive in a few hours and assured me that he’d have it done by the late afternoon. I was ecstatic, but he wasn’t done there. He was concerned that it was hot, gave me two bottles of water if I was planning to walk around town to kill time, offered for me to stay on his lobby couch and use the free wifi, for as long as I wanted. AND recommended things to go do and places to eat in San Rafael. Tony not only got all the work done, in the time that he had quoted, but also gave me a completely reasonable price for everything. (Oh and he fixed my air conditioner, my radiator and refilled all of my fluids, just because. I can’t say enough good things and I am incredibly grateful. THANK YOU TONY!”

“got recommended to Vista auto care by Toscalito tire! Arrived there and have never noticed that this was a part of town. The family that greeted me was super cozy and welcoming. I had to smog for out-of-state cars and one used big van and they were super helpful. I told them I normally go to San Rafael smog but they've been closed for like two days. I went to another smog place in Terra Linda area that only preferred the registration would be done so I ended up leaving there to try somewhere else new. These guys were super honest and told me what needed to be done and will probably return in the future if San Rafael smog is going to be closed for the uncertainty of opening again Boy do I miss that family of that managed San Rafael smog on Lisbon”

“Excellent service - the staff was welcoming, providing accurate information about the service requested, the cost and timeline. They also offered a free ride home and return. The service on my car was very well done.”
“I had a suspected coolant leak in my Mercedes GLC300 (A warning message kept popping up on the display console).
They ran all the tests and could not find any problem. The likely cause was insufficient coolant was added during the last major service a couple of months ago. Coolant topped up and no new warning messages. No charge for this check up.
