Motel 6 Santa Barbara - State Street is a simple, clean, and welcoming budget motel. The place is consistently described as spotless, clean, and well-maintained. Guests frequently praise the comfortable beds and great shower with good water pressure. The rooms include practical amenities like a microwave, small refrigerator, and cable television. The property also features a swimming pool. Its location on State Street is considered great and very convenient, with several eating places and a market within walking distance. It is also noted as accessible via local transit. However, the motel shows signs of age, with rooms described as older, worn out, and in need of renovating. Some guests noted stained bedsheets. A significant point of contention is the pricing, which many guests find incredibly too high and ridiculous for this type of budget motel, often costing over $300 for a single night. This is attributed to its Santa Barbara location. The Wi-Fi service is reported to not work, and no breakfast is provided. Experiences with the front desk personnel are mixed; some staff are praised as friendly, hospitable, and pleasant, making the stay enjoyable, while others are described as rude, not friendly, off-putting, and awkward. Overall, it is viewed as a fine and okay stay that works for basic needs, but the high price point leads many to feel the value does not match the cost.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful at any time.

The smallest rooms we've ever stayed in, but the shower was hot and everything seemed clean, nothing broken

Place was spotless! There were some unsavory characters staying there but no one bothered us. Front desk had a hair dryer thank God because I forgot mine at home. Beds are a little stiff but 1000% would stay again!!
