Tongva Park is a beautiful and pleasant park in a great location across the street from the Santa Monica Pier and beach. It offers fantastic ocean views from its upper viewing balconies, perfect for watching the sunset over the Pacific horizon. The park features modern architectural design and is filled with gorgeous landscaping, native plants, and peaceful walking paths. It has many neighborhoods, including a highlight being a beautiful old tree. It is a great family park with a fantastic playground and splash pad for younger children, featuring climbing areas and gentle water features. The playground equipment, however, is noted as limited and spread out. The park provides grassy lawns, picnic tables, shaded seating, and public restrooms, making it a perfect picnic spot. Rental scooters are also available. A noted challenge is its visible homeless presence, described as a bedroom and living room for the homeless after dark, which is an urban issue for the area. Visitors recommend coming earlier in the day for a more family-focused experience.
I was not fond of it because it had the playground equipment spread out. Also, the selection of playground equipment is limited to a few different apparatuses only. However, it was in a great location across the street from Santa Monica Pier.
