“This gift shop in downtown Sausalito is one of the better stores, featuring local souvenirs with "Sausalito" emblazoned on them, and also fun products from around world like Studio Ghibli stuff and Adventures with Tin Tin books and gifts! It's a BIG store -- take some time to check out all the nooks of this shop! Prices ranges here depending on what item -- but there's something for everyone here. Staff are not intrusive and generally will service you at the check-out counter.”

“The perfect place to visit during El Dia de los Muertos. They have practically everything, including sugar skulls, ceramic skulls and altar ornaments. Their skeleton figurine collection is impressive.”

“I've been gifted several of these lovely soy candles so I was excited when I spotted their storefront in San Francisco. I especially like their candles that come in a tin and they were on sale when I visited so I happily picked up a new one. I chose Dusk which they describe as: 8pm. Damp leaves, crisp air, powder and spice on a clear night. Woody, cool, and earthy. Black pepper, clary sage, palo santo, and blooming iris. I can't wait to smell this scent wafting through my home.If you're looking for a gift I highly recommend one of their 10 ounce soy candles from the Sunset collection paired with a pretty book of matches.”

“I love post.script. for a lot of different reasons. It’s such a pretty shop, I love the white walls, that allows all of the colorful items for sale to really pop! The intimate store is also laid out nicely, with many items, easy to see and reach comfortably. And then, the items! It’s such a thoughtful, interesting collection of things for sale, you’re sure to find a great present for your special person. It’s also a small business, locally owned and locally popular. With lots of fun events, I’ve been to a few and made some great connections. Chandler has made a special place that adds to the fun of exploring Filmore Street.”

“If you haven't stopped into Jessica's shop on Union Street, do yourself a favor and do it soon. It's not just a great spot for beautiful and unique gifts, but the know-customers-by-name small town vibe is just fantastic.”

“ATYS we have loved for many years, since living in the city moving to the East Bay, still go back there for inspiration. Among many great stores still in existence, like Japonesque in Jackson Square, Sanko Kitchen Essentials or Flora Grubb for plants, San Francisco still has it!”

“Such a cute store filled with a random assortment of this and that. Great to find fun gifts, or just to peruse to see if anything strikes you. Probably should have bought this aplaca/llama”

“I had driven by Routes Gallery many times and always wondered what it was; today I was waiting for someone shopping next door at United so I decided to check it out. Routes has such a spacious and peaceful outdoor area with an assortment of plants and Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. Step inside and be immersed in more art and culture. There were Tibetan prayer flags, sage, bamboo, crystals, beads, and more. The singing bowls caught my attention. The owner of Routes was at the gallery; he was so friendly and I appreciated that he took time to talk to me and share his knowledge of the different bowls (they had metal and crystal). While I didn't buy anything on this visit to Routes, I enjoyed browsing the gallery and taking in the energy. I'll definitely be back!”

“This store is probably one of my favorite places ever... I have been going there since childhood, so it retains a lot of nostalgia for me, but the overall quality and customer service has remained the same. Every time I go to collect more shells, the staff is always super friendly and willing to help me find what I am looking for. I have been thrilled to find so many treasures here! It's a Pier 39 treasure itself!”

“I love this place! Quality oils that I can only get from here. I recently bought some oil to be shipped. There was a problem with the shipping fee which they immediately fixed and included an incense gift and a really nice note! Love their oils and their customer service. Highly recommend this little gem!”

“Please can I give a 10 to the staff for friendliness? It is so refreshing to be greeted by someone that enjoys their job and really wants to be at work, The person that greeted me was so genuine that it was refreshing, while there are other hot sauce stores that have a larger selection, this location has more than enough to satisfy most people. Prices were very reasonable. Would shop here again.”

“I spent so long in this store that I wanted to buy everything. It's like a toy store for adults with books, stationeries, souvenirs, and everything in between. They are colourful and quirky (some). They remind us there are beautiful things called art out there that are worth our longing.”

“Came in to find one crystal because I was astonished by the reviews to this place, and walked out with 6! Considering this is one of the biggest crystal shops in the bay area, I'm really impressed. From crystals, to incense, to clothing, and more! The workers were so welcoming, and the cashier (forgot her name) threw in some freebies and a big discount for my crystals! Definitely will come back and bring my friends who share the same passion”

“Amazing gift shop for traditional Chinese souvenirs and clothes! We went around Chinatown looking for a tiny Chinese coin purse and came across many places where the quality and price were not worth it. However at this shop, the prices were extremely affordable and quality was better than anything we have seen.We really liked looking through all the Chinese decor, clothing and souvenirs. The store owner was very friendly and welcoming. We came in looking for a $1 coin purse and left with $100 worth of merchandise. Extremely satisfied!”

“Good selection of mahjong tiles, including multiple sizes, pattern colors and ones with Arabic numerals. I thought they would be expensive, marked-up for being in the center of a touristy area, but they were very reasonably priced. The staff were so nice and helpful. Will definitely return to buy more sets for friends!”

“Thank you very Mochi! [Japantown, San Francisco CA] These are beautiful Japanese confections located on the West Mall at Japantown in San Francisco. The confections are fun, fresh and yummy. We were given samples of the Harajuku mochis in strawberry and chocolate flavors. Ooh the chocolate just hit you at first bite... it's like Nutella with a doughy texture. I preferred the chocolate over the strawberry but these little soft pillows are so heavenly delicious. The packagings and canisters are amazing. Beautiful selection of wrapped traditional Japanese food gifts! They also have some packaged candy and mochis that come in cutesy Hello Kitty tin cans. My daughter couldn't stop with the oohs and ahhs LoL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Nippon-ya is located on the West Mall at Japantown in San Francisco. Instagram: @nipponya.sf Review #3378”

“Through Reddit, I learned that this unassuming, eccentric little shop offered aura photography. It isn’t well advertised. I asked the shopkeeper if my boyfriend and I could get our aura photo taken together and was taken to a back room. The process was very fast, and I think it cost around $25. She didn’t do a deep reading or analysis. She just showed me a piece of paper on how to interpret my photo. I really wanted the photo and didn’t need the analysis so I didn’t care about getting a deeper reading ?”

“It's a small shop, but the staff are very kind. When I bought a magnet for a souvenir, they went out of their way to bring me a new one from the back. Highly recommended if you want a souvenir from San Francisco.”
