“Joab deserves a bonus. This guy was juggling 4 different clients (like 10 people) at the same time, bringing out and sorting inventory, ringing up sales, and giving a constant stream of honest and expert advice on shoes to legit players and beginners. I was amazed by how efficient and hardworking this guy was. I wish I had a company so I could offer him a job - he would undoubtedly go above and beyond in any task.

“Yep. Shopping with this store is the way to go. I had a great first experience getting help with sizing and weight distribution, etc. Then, more importantly, when I had a problem with the shoes (unusual manufacturing issue) sometime later the manager worked with me as I had hoped. She was exceptionally busy but definitely made sure I didn’t feel a burden. I appreciated her approach and attitude. Reinforcing for me why I shop at a reputable storefront when I can. I tried to show my appreciation more tangibly by buying all my additional equipment I could possibly think of while I was there. Will continue to be a patron.”

“We took the two hour kayak tour of the Monterey Shoreline and it was amazing! Our guide, Marly, got us suited up and gave basic instructions before guiding us into the water and onto our kayak. (I'm 72 and shared a kayak with my 18 year old grandson). Marly was kind and patient and fun. Her love and reverence for the area was contagious! She taught us so many interesting facts about the ocean and all the magnificent wildlife we passed -- sea lions, harbor seals, otters, and many kinds of birds! Viewing them in their world, right there on the water, was breathtaking. Excellent service, excellent experience!!”

“I’ve been dealing with some muscle spasms/numbness with my legs and I put on my Soxbox socks for compression and it gave me such relief!
I wore them to bed and I was able to sleep through the night without waking up from discomfort.

DIN friendly: they'll ask if you want the pro-valve insert removed, or even do it ahead of time if they know you want it. Fills are consistently to working pressure or higher. “Came in to restring my racquet and was not disappointed. Tae, who I believe is the owner, seems to know his stuff and is one of the nicest guys I’ve met. He also recommended wrapping the grip and thankfully I agreed because it came out flawless. I will definitely return for my tennis needs. Although I didn’t take a real good look at his inventory, his shop seemed filled with clothes, shoes, racquets and more. He was even kind enough to throw in a couple free gifts. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the lack of reviews but like I said, we’ll definitely be returning for his services.”

“The lady who runs this shop is very friendly and doesn't discriminate on you being heavier.I had to order a custome suit because no store bought suit would fit a female of my stature.She told me right off the bat, she won't charge more just because I'm bigger, she said some places charge for the extra material, but she felt it was unfair for the person.I highly recommend her for a custom suit, or any alterations.”

“My wife and I this weekend visited Coast Carmel during a trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea. The store had an excellent variety of top line clothing choices. My wife was able to buy just what she was looking for. The whole staff, including Lucia, who did a great job waiting on us, made the shopping experience perfect. We recommend Coast Carmel without hesitation!”
“Typical REI experience. Most of what I buy is Kühl and Arc'teryx pants and sweaters, and every visit feels about the same: very friendly employees, but rarely the items I actually came in for.
The employees are honestly the reason this location gets four stars. They’re consistently helpful and pleasant.
The problem is the inventory. They seem to carry only a couple of styles of pants, jackets, or sweaters, and that’s about it. Even when they do have something I want, there’s often only one or two of that item, and almost never in the size I need.
It’s a nice store in a good location with plenty of parking, which makes the limited selection even more frustrating. The irony is that a physical retail store needs strong in-store sales to justify staying open, yet the inventory often feels like an afterthought.
What makes it even stranger is that, as helpful as the staff are, they often end up encouraging customers to order online when the store doesn’t have what they came for. I’m not sure there’s much awareness of the connection between working in a retail store and routinely directing customers to make their purchases somewhere else.”
