The course layout at Black Horse is quite spread out, but the holes are very interesting with quite a bit of elevation changes.
The practice area is quite nice too. Course conditions are top notch except for patrons not fixing ball marks.
The cart people give out free cold water bottles too.
It’s a hidden gem for a muni - heard it has been renovated as I had played Bayonet several decades ago and didn’t remember much good things back then other than being cheap.”

“We are incredibly happy that we chose to do our wedding at the Barns at Cooper Molera, and we relive our beautiful memories every day. We truly got to enjoy every minute of our wedding day with no stress, because we knew that Makenna, Chef David, Amanda, and the whole team were on top of every detail.

Our wedding was 240 people with a morning ceremony/lunch, a full space flip, and an evening cocktail/reception. The Barns team seamlessly pulled off two layouts in the same space in one day, with different meals, bar offerings, decor, and rentals for each.

Beyond the amazing team - the venue itself is truly stunning; it’s so beautiful that we only had to minimally decorate to create a warm and elegant atmosphere. The space is the perfect balance of rustic and modern, and the barn is deceptively large; we were able to fit everyone on the dance floor! The attached garden is perfect for photographs and a quieter space for guests. We were even able to do an Indian Baraat, due to the unique downtown layout with street access. The Barns are walkable to multiple downtown hotels, so if you do a hotel block or ancillary events, guests can easily move between the spaces without worrying about late-night transportation.

From the start, working with our sales manager Amanda was a joy. She coordinated a pre-booking tasting for us and showed us many different layouts for the space, to help us feel confident that the Barns would be the right fit for our wedding. Amanda helped us with flexibility throughout our planning process - helping us contract reasonable spend minimums well ahead of having a firm guest count.

Our event manager Makenna went above and beyond to enable our vision. She accommodated a remarkable number of requests, questions, and add-ons with grace and professionalism. Makenna kept us organized, and her meticulous notes ensured no detail was forgotten. She liaised with our photographer, DJ, florist, and rental contact to ensure everyone was working off of the same schedule. She took the time to understand the context behind each of the cultural aspects of our wedding ceremony and event flow, and ensured that the spirit and the intent was carried through. Finally - Makenna was a constant source of creative ideas; she knows every detail of the Barns in and out, and has thought through every possible configuration, down to the height of plants that might block views and where the sun might fall at different times of the day. We were so lucky to have had Makenna’s expertise, dedication, and creativity throughout the process.

Chef David and the culinary team at the Barns were truly exceptional. The team learned how to make multiple Indian dishes for our wedding, and managed two large multi-cuisine meals in one day. We’re still hearing rave reviews of the food 6 months later. Throughout the whole process, the team was open to feedback and refining flavors and sizing to match our vision. Finally, we appreciated the level of attention given to dietary restrictions, including willingness to label tray-passed items, which we had never seen before.

“Amazing event space for the Monterey County Boy & Girls Club - Comics for Kids event. A first rate event. The food was amazing. Braised short ribs were freaking amazing. I really enjoyed the pre=reception area with complementary wine and light appetizers, that include a meat and cheese display and also an ahi-tuna bit that was excellent as well. A wonderful event space for any organization and/or corporate event to showcase their company.”

“We had our wedding at the Perry House last weekend and I could not wait to write a review. We had a fanatic experience working with Perry. The night went seamlessly and if something was wrong, we never knew! Truly enjoyed the event and working with Susan. From the experience of searching, to the tasting (which was more like a feast), to the day of- we are truly thankful and appreciative of the Perry House team. The food and drinks are PHENOMENAL and was a big deciding factor. The venue is gorgeous and center to so much in Monterey.”

“Beautiful and peaceful property! We ate dinner one night at Lucia, which was lovely and watched the sun set each evening from the infinity jacuzzi. Our only complaint is that we booked nights under two reservations (using credit card points) and I called ahead to ensure we wouldn’t have to move rooms - was reassured they would connect the bookings and we’d have one room for the week. And then when we checked in we were told…we’d have to move rooms. Other than that, we really liked the resort and would definitely return!”

“Only played the back 9 but it was a great time! Nice views of the ocean. One thing I didn’t expect is it’s a very SHORT course. 300 yard par 4s from the tips. Only a couple of longer holes.”

“My experience with the Monterey County Fairgrounds has primarily been thru the Carmel Valley 4-H. The accommodations for the kids with livestock are, in my opinion, top of the line. I love this place and the sense of community that comes with it!”

“The location is great, beautiful grounds, nice ambiance inside the hotel. Our thermostat didn't work, no fan in the bathroom, beds were too soft. TV was outdated and slow- not a good UI- hard to connect. No USBC outlets. Getting to the spa was a trek. The hotel has multiple buildings and sort of a maze of passages. The service was good however, especially housekeeping did a nice job. It didn't seem quite worth the money and there were some basic amenities missing”

“My wife and I bought a case of the 2010 Pinot in 2013. It was questionable 5 years, 6 years and 7 years later. It was just off. But, OMG! It bloomed into the most fruity, balanced, mature Pinot I've ever had last year and tonight with a NY steak.”

“This place is nice, so nice that it made me want to get married. Why? Because my friend's wedding reception was at the Golf Club House. The place had a lot of room, plenty of tables, the food was great, and the service was really good. So why wouldn't I consider having a special occasion here? Outside of the Golf Club House, there's a great view of the hills, decent parking, plenty of grass, the lodge, houses, and there's a decent fountain. At night, there was even a fireplace to be used. My friend, his family, and everyone enjoyed their time at the Carmel Valley Golf Club House. So be my friend and invite me over for another occasion. You'll enjoy the place and I'll help finish the food that was ordered.”

“We are beyond grateful for Heidi and the Coastside Couture team! Heidi and Sonja made our wedding everything we dreamed of and more—it was not only perfect, but so much fun. Our guests are still telling us it was one of the best weddings (and dance floors!) they’ve ever attended. My husband and I keep reliving the day over and over, and we wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Heidi and her team brought together the most incredible group of vendors and made the entire day flow seamlessly. None of it would have been possible without them. “Location, location, location. Best one in Monterey. First, we were welcomed charcuterie fruits, cheese, chocolate and champagne! The hotel is walking distance to everywhere and we never took our car out. We took Lyft once to a restaurant that was 6 miles away. First night we had a few drinks at the bar. Service was great from Ricky. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning open at 6:30-11 am. We wanted local coffee and simply walked 1/2 a block. The Wells Fargo Bank was also right there the next block. Staff are super friendly and we had a nice corner room with a view of the Marina thanks to Irma. The hotel is due to for a remodel as the bathroom were a little older. The room decor was simple and beds were comfortable. I did love the cotton light robes and slippers they provide and oversized bath towels. Thank you for a great stay!”

“this "hotel", which both is and isn't is of that rare breed of lodging that makes one feel at home. literally.if you have ever had the occasion and opportunity to be a guest in a better home, The Lodge at Pebble Beach will remind you of that kind of experience.every interaction with staff gave one the feeling they were being attended to by an old family equerry. there was nothing corporate about the experience. at no time did i feel i was being subjected to some "standard operating procedure" or employee's manual.the rooms, even the modest ones, are palatial, for what they are. high ceiling and sprawling floorspace make for an en-suite guestroom in a mansion, sort of vibe.room service. the food arrived hot, even though the kitchen was a few hundred yards away and it was raining, cold and windy.the concierge. a more affable exchange can not be had.the bar. i asked that the bartender prepare an obnoxiously off-the-menu cocktail and he did it, without thinking about it. without hesitation. and not with any complaining or exasperated vibe, either.the people at the front desk kind of put you in the mind of a fuzzy episode of the TV Series "Hotel" in the way they tendered the keenest and intentional care to every word that comes from your mouth.at every turn i was confronted with nicety, service, and warmth.i'll be back.thank you, Lodge!”

“As a wedding planner I love De Tierra as a wedding venue. This property is really one of a kind and unlike anything else in the area. The accommodations in the house are lovely and spacious. The property is so diverse you could spend the several days exploring and still not see everything it has to offer. The olive groves, vineyards, gardens and pool stand out as highlights to me.If you are looking for a wedding venue to host an intimate wedding for 32 guests or less this a property that will help you feel like you have been transported out of the country for a true getaway!”

“Clean, bright, inviting waft of popcorn permeating the lobby, comfy seats, great sound, only negative was we were FREEZING!!!! The A/C did not need to be on a late afternoon in chilly Marina, especially with 6 of us being the only patrons! Bring jackets and wear socks!!!”

“Truly a first class resort! Our family used to come here every year with friends of ours. And then COVID hit. This year, we decided to come back. We discovered that they had just completed a multi-million dollar renovation to their family friendly River Ranch, so we couldn't wait to check it out (and it didn't disappoint). There is something for everyone! My husband and son golfed, our kids swam, we played bocce ball, and I went to the spa. We left relaxed, not like we needed a vacation from our vacation (like we sometimes do). We can't wait to come back!”

“I just wanted to point out that there are people who enter the theater without paying through the exit door, since there's no one guarding the door. Last night I went in to see a movie and there was no one at the entrance to check my ticket. When I left through the exit door, there were two women with a child waiting for someone to leave from outside, and as soon as I left, the child held the door before it closed, and so they all got into the theater for free. I found this absurd, so here's my warning to the owner.”

“Had a Wonderful stay, was greeted by a friendly gentleman named Sean who assisted with check in, he was warm and welcoming and made us really enjoy the rest of our stay.

Would definitely recommend this place for its level of service and location. :)”

“We stay here for a week using a family member's timeshare. They have limited mobility, and the property has a lot of stairs, so it's not very suitable for them any more.

I'm reviewing because people should know they're locked out from streaming on the room's TVs. We're paying for a streaming service, paying for access to the room with large TVs. But Hyatt has the remotes locked down so you can't mirror, cast, or stream from a phone, tablet or laptop. The front desk says it's intentionally disabled so you buy content from their service instead. I'm sure this policy could be changed if enough people complain about it.

There are some things which are really nice - being able to borrow binoculars (or other small items) from the front desk if you forget your own. The proximity to Point Lobos is great - lots of wildlife and beautiful views there. The resort's gym, pool and hot tubs are clean and well-maintained. Wifi is mostly good enough that you can work remotely if needed.”

“The rooms and buildings kinda weren’t the most updated overall (no luggage carts) but the hammock garden was unique and the best for relaxing. Fire pits by the golf course are also very nice for the end of sunset. Staff was so kind honestly all of them deserve a raise.”
