Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is a fantastic and beautiful hotel with stunning waterfront views. The location is great, within a 7-10 minute walk to Cannery Row and the aquarium, offering a walking distance from everything location. Rooms are spacious and in line with the price, featuring a king room with a big cozy bed, a sitting area, a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, and sometimes a little balcony. Guests enjoy the sound and smell of the ocean as a fantastic morning soundtrack. Amenities include a small fridge, a Nespresso machine, a tea kettle, luxurious robes, and no tacky price lists for extras.
The hotel provides awesome service, with staff from valet parking to front desk to guest services generally being super friendly and helpful. There was one exception noted with a check-in staff member who was unclear and unhelpful with luggage. The restaurant downstairs is great, and the chocolate ganache tart at the lobby bar is delicious. Noteworthy details include the chatty sea lions and seals nearby, and the lobby's own pleasant bamboo fragrance. It is a nice hotel experience with amazing views.
What a GEM π Iβd stay here again in a heartbeat itβs right next to the aquarium and an antiques mall and the sardine factory β¦. Not to mention some really rad restaurants, galleries (both photography and otherwise) Monterey is a VIBE π

Pleasantly surprised by how excellently kept the property was even if it is a bit older of a hotel. Even some of the newer hotels would have something broken or not well maintained but we really enjoyed the cleanliness, room, dine in food, rooftop hot tubs, and location!
