“As an Armenian, I shop at a lot of Armenian markets and most of them carry the same products that meet our needs. I normally wouldn’t leave a review for a supermarket, but this one truly stands out.
An apple is an apple! the difference here is the service. From the guys at the deli and butcher to the staff at the checkout, everyone is genuinely helpful and respectful. You can feel that customer service actually matters to them, and that makes a big difference.”
“Went the day before Thanksgiving to buy a tomahawk steak but they were sold out. One of the butchers there recommended cowboy cut instead. He explained the different grade of beef and we ended up buying prime cuts at $27.99/lb. It was pricey but definitely worth the price as it was buttery soft and a big hit at our Thanksgiving dinner.”
“A neighborhood gem!
I enjoy shopping at the Stater Bros. on Whittier Blvd in West Whittier. Ever since they moved into the new location, the experience has been fantastic. The store is consistently spotless, bright, and incredibly well-organized, making it easy to find everything I need.
The real highlight, however, is their legendary meat department. The certified meat cutters are true professionals—always willing to offer a custom cut or seasoning advice—and the quality of their ribeyes and marinated meats is simply unmatched by other local chains. The produce section is equally impressive, always stocked with fresh, crisp fruits and vegetables.
Beyond the products, it’s the people that make this store special. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, giving the place a warm, community feel that you just don’t get at big-box stores. Whether I'm grabbing a quick dinner of their delicious Cleo & Leo fried chicken or doing a full week's grocery run, this Stater Bros. never disappoints. Highly recommended!”
“So glad that they survived the Eaton fire, even though so many neighbors did not. Their selection varies (like with all locations), but what they do have is a great value.”
“I love this location! So clean, so organized. The parking is whatever but worth it to go.
Their premade Vallarta habanero Amarillo salsa is spicier than some of the romance novels I’ve read ?️ the spice is a slow burn and the salsa is surprisingly savory so it’s hard to stop!”
“We drive out of our way to shop there. Fantastic prices, the full-service deli is the best around. The produce is fresh with many items other stores don't have. They have a wonderful selection of nuts. They always have plenty of checkers and haven't joined that annoying self checkout trend. They have many items other stores don't carry. There are a few items they are light on, but most things they are our favorite store. Really great!”
“I grew around this store and its one of the only ones left since I was a child....so many trips with my mom to this store to buy food to make dinner!...it's not the fanciest, but I promise u they have a lil bit of everything...their CarniceriaIs great..it's a family owned small business and they're still there for a reason...really friendly people....I pretty much go every 2 days at least....lol”
“**warning: check your receipt!!! For the last 20 years. I have been going to EL MAMBI, they have salted pig tail, and butter beans and a lot of Goya's products, no-gas green bananas and other central Americans food. I wish they had salted mackerel. I am going to check to see if they have salted beef. They do have baccalo but not very good quality. I love their sweet potatoes, Ñame root . Thank the Lord that they are still operating in Glendale since this is the last Central American/ Caribbean market left in Glendale CA. ****Someone mentioned below that you should check your receipt before leaving and make certain that they do not overcharge you. I noticed they did that to me before seeing this warning and it was a lot about $15 overcharging me and now I truly believe that they did it on purpose, one of the female cashed me out and I noticed it was too high. She make me feel as if she did not clear the register from the last customer. But now I look back and realize by her response she knew what she did. *** Be careful when the females are cashing you out. It is just a shame to steal from your customers!!”

“This store is extraordinary! The store has an exceptionally coordinated arrangement and it is not difficult to get what I want. Every one of the contributions are of top notch and sensibly valued. The nutrient and supplement choice is magnificent as well. The staff is agreeable, useful, and clever. I love everything about the store. Enthusiastically suggested!”
“Great super market in a convenient location - had a variety of everything you would need. Popped in here to grab some laundry detergent - was quite pleased with their selection.”
“My first time here & I’m impressed! Clean space, fresh produce and great customer service. I love the presentation of the items on the shelves, SO NEAT! Will be back”
“Aldi is a very nice low cost market. Some of the brands are unknown, but almost always as good as the majors and they always have something new to try that the majors don't have. They are constantly changing special deals and special items which make it a great place to shop!”
“Great fish and seafood market with lots of exotic fresh fish to choose from. They will even gut, clean and fry the fish for you. Immense selection of authentic Filipino products . Plus the notorious Red Horse Beer can be found here . Mabuhay..”
“Numero Uno is a fantastic local grocery store with two locations on San Pedro Ave located about a mile apart. I’ve been shopping Numero Uno for over a year when I’m in historic south central LA. Stores are always clean. Produce and dairy products fresh. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location of this post can be a little confusing. What I originally thought was the front on San Pedro and looked closed was the back of the store. Entrance and parking are behind the store.”

“I have to go back to shop and check it out, there much going on there, and all looks good and tasty. I meet a customer there Susan was so friendly, she was there from Rancho.”
“I like the low price the have, cheaper than COSTCO for a lot of them. On the downside, not a lot of selections. Item you buy may not be there next time. Time at the register has improved since they added the self checkout. Still don't like to have to look for a quarter to get a cart in this day and age where I almost never use cash.”
“Clean and excellent selection. Good variety of food and the freshest, most beautiful fruits and veggies I have seen in some time. Prices aren't too bad and reasonable.”

“It's a nice little neighborhood store. The people running it are nice, friendly and helpful. They have a pretty decent selection of merchandise available. If they don't have exactly what you want, you can find something that will work. There's street parking and it's even easier to walk to.”
“I call this store the store that has everything and the people that complain it’s a 99+ They are cheaper Than most stores and always keep the store stocked up thank you for you’re service have a beautiful day ??”
“I'm giving Seafood City a solid four stars. Let me start by saying—the moment you walk in, you're hit with a strong seafood smell. It's not the most pleasant at first, almost like something's gone bad, but after a few minutes, you realize it's just that raw, natural seafood scent you’d expect from a place selling live crab and fresh catch daily.
The store itself is extremely well stocked, especially if you're looking for Asian groceries or specialty items you won’t find at your regular supermarket. The seafood section is impressive—they offer a wide variety of fresh options, including live crab and shellfish. However, the meat section didn’t look too great. The quality seemed a little off, but to be fair, I wasn’t expecting premium cuts here.
What knocks it down to four stars for me is the customer service—or lack of it. Employees barely acknowledge you, and when they do speak, it’s so fast and mumbled that it’s hard to understand what they’re saying. It feels very rushed and impersonal.
If you're coming strictly for the selection, this place delivers. But don’t expect warm greetings or help from the staff. Still, worth stopping by if you're looking to cook up something fresh and flavorful at home”
“Been coming here since I was 11 yr old with my single mother now I'm 22 and still come to this place only spot I trust with clean meat and affordable, they are beyond chill and nice.”
“Love this store. Been coming here since the age of 5 years old and I'm 29 now. You can find everything you need here and it's super cheap! They sell fruits, vegetables, drinks, medicine, candy, meat, bread, chips, snacks, Mexico products, energy drinks, laundry stuff, perosnal hygine and much more!”
“for vegetables this my place. the prices are half what the american style supermarkets charge and fresher because they sell so much they don’t sit on the shelf long. unlike american style supers, where they sit for days getting drowned and spoiling in water spray.”

“This is a very classy and inexpensive supermarket in our city. My mother asked me to purchase some products for our needs last week. I was really happy that the sales lady was able to support me. She's very welcoming. All the stuff I needed was available, plus the price was fair. You are waiting for me to visit your store again.”
“I really like shopping here. I would give it a 5 star only if it wasn’t so busy all the time. They have many registers, but it’s always so crowded there. I change my mind. I will give 5 star. It’s not their fault everyone wants to shop there. They have many things and usually fresh that I can’t find in other supermarkets.”
“Food is good the burger is gourmet fries are bomb the burrito is more americanized though comes with bell peppers not for me but maybe for others have been having lunch here a handful of times and never disappointed”
“Come here occasionally to fill my water bottles using the primo/glacier water station that's conveniently located right outside the store so I can buy it anytime I want day or night.”
“Love this little market! The staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s clean, organized, and has a great vibe. Perfect stop for snacks, drinks and other necessity.”

“Like this store. I've been going here for several years now. Although there is a closer store of this network. Convenient location of goods. There are always lots of promotions. Large assortment, you can find almost anything. There are also bulk products such as meat, chicken, fish, salads, pickles, cold meats, cheeses and sweets. You can say no cons, except for ever-growing prices, but this is clearly not a question for the store.”
“I love coming here, the store is very clean, great environment. The store has many great foods and snacks for affordable prices. Staff are welcoming and very helpful.”
