“The Torrance Cultural Arts Center is such a lovely place. Right in the heart of Torrance it has a lot to offer. The entire campus is always so clean and safe and parking is always free.

We have been a few times. The last time we went to their amazing Pine Wind Japanese Garden. It is a real Japanese garden and the man who designed it is brilliant. National Landscape Award winner Takeo Uesugi designed the entire area. It has two waterfall, a koi pond, and a beautiful stone pathway. it also has a A two-tiered amphitheater with seating for up to 25 people or maybe more if they bring in some chairs. What a wonderful place to see an event. You can even get married there.

They also have a wonderful little museum, and the George Nakano Theater is super cute and you can rent it for meetings or a performance and they have events there as well.

The James Armstrong Theater is also there and we just went last month to see a great performance.

All of it is just wonderful, even if you just want to walk the garden or just walk. Have the best time.”

“A Magical Experience at The Monarch Ballroom – Thank You, Max!

My wife and I stumbled upon The Monarch Ballroom by complete chance—right after a wedding cake tasting, we happened to walk by and saw the beautiful space. Max, the owner, greeted us with such warmth and enthusiasm that we couldn’t help but ask if he taught first dance lessons. He said he did—and often! His inviting and joyful personality instantly made us want to come back and book a class.

A month later, we had our first lesson with Max, and from that very first session, we knew we had found the right instructor to choreograph our wedding dance. Five lessons later, we felt confident, excited, and fully prepared for one of the most special moments of our big day. And when that moment came, it was perfect—our guests absolutely loved it and complimented the elegance and attention to detail. Max truly helped make our wedding unforgettable.

What sets Max apart is his ability to translate your vision into movement. You give him the song, and his creative, rhythmic mind immediately begins crafting steps that feel natural and unique to you. He’s also incredibly accommodating—he really listens to your needs and makes you feel completely at ease throughout the process. Plus, his upbeat and joyful personality made every lesson something we genuinely looked forward to. We shared a lot of laughs along the way, and our farewell after the final class was bittersweet.

We can’t wait to return and take part in his weekly dance classes, which cover a wide variety of styles. Whether you're preparing for a wedding or just want to learn how to dance with your loved one, The Monarch Ballroom is the perfect place. The space itself is immaculate—beautifully kept and full of charm.

Thank you, Max, for everything. We’re so grateful!”

“We love this place. It is located right in Torrance in the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. It is perfect.

Parking is not only free, it is easy. I am disabled and was able to have my husband drive me right to the front and drop me off. He then parked himself and we met at the front.

This is an all volunteer staff and they are lovely. They will help you find your seat or buy what you want. They have beer and wine and snacks. You can have them in the lobby or in their adorable outdoor seating error. I don't think you can take in anything but water, I just don't recall. They also have soda and all their snacks are in the cute logo bags.

You can tell the volunteers are proud of this place and they should be.

There is not a bad seat in the house. The seats are comfortable and the entire space is spotless. You can even go outside if you need a break or there is an intermission.

We took out grandson to the see The Bill Withers Songbooks and it was amazing. The sound was perfect. The singer and his band were just great and he sounded like Mr. Withers. He also did some of his own music and it was great.

Getting in and out is easy. The patrons are nice. The staff is the best,

There is nothing not to like so you must go. Use their website or Google TOCA and you will find a list of upcoming events.

The area is safe, it is all just wonderful.”

“Went to a taste testing and menu selection for my event in February. The room was beautifully decorated, elegant, and spacious. The food we sampled was to-die-for. We tasted the sliced roast beef, a baked chicken sliced in strips and another type of chicken, teriyaki salmon and a specially seasoned mashed potato and rice. All the food was excellent, but I could only pick two meats. I know my guests will love the choices. The facility is beautiful.”

“Location was excellent! Walking distance to Kings Hawaiian and The San Franciscan. Short distance to Del Amo mall and beaches.
Room was a little humid, pool could benefit from a good cleaning.
Nice to see microwave by ice maker the hallway instead of the room.
Family friendly rooms were very quiet from any nearby traffic.
Would stay again and recommend to others.”

“Stayed at this location after attending a local event. The staff was attentive and friendly. The room appeared recently updated and was very clean. They have a breakfast buffet (add on fee) in which you'll find common staples such as eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, pressed juices, coffee and other items.”
