I’d much rather support a small business rather than go to Lowe’s etc. I have bought a few plants from Kenzie who is extremely helpful and has the cutest plants.I noticed my monsteras started to get infested with thrips. I headed over to lucky garden to grab some supplies to tend to my plants. I spoke with the owner Natalie and told her my issue. She took my over to the product and how to use it. “This was a wonderful, bucket list experience for my boyfriend. He has been practicing the art of Bonsai for a couple decades now and has always wanted to come visit Grove Way. This past Saturday i mentioned it and he jumped at the opportunity to go. We spent a wonderful hour or hour and a half walking around enjoying the artistry and mastery on display. Talking with the owner and his son were both very positive experiences oh and you have to give the cat some extra lovin and scratches- it’s a total love bug and won me over! They have a gorgeous selection of pots and tools ranging in size, shape and rarity with pricing to match as well as starter trees all the way up to show pieces. If you’re in the bonsai world you probably already know about Grove Way but if you’re new go check it out. They are more than happy to talk with beginners and advanced students alike.If you’ve never been it can be a little weird finding the trees but basically walk down the driveway towards what would be the front door of the house and there will be green foot prints that go up the porch and enter the house. Follow those and you’ll pass through the front room with pots and tools, a kitchen converted to a workshop then out the back porch (more pots here too!) and finally to the backyard to see the trees!Watching the owner shaping the trees with such confidence, finesse and true mastery was hypnotic. He just was shipping away seemingly random and sporadic but truly it was the product of a lifetime devoted to the craft. I’m not a bonsai person and was totally geeking out a little.”

“Out and about on New Year’s Eve eve and remembered I needed a gift for our hostess’ birthday for her New Year’s eve birthday celebration the next day. Googled up “succulents near me” and found this amazing place. The second we pulled up we could see all the cool plants and once we got closer, it was obvious that the pottery was also really cute and the plant choices were clearly designed to match the personality of the pots.We wandered around and around and finally decided on a pot we thought reflected her style. However, it was planted with a succulent that wasn’t speaking to me. When I told the owner that, she said “oh you hurt my heart!” And then smiled and told me she’d take it out and design something special with multiple plants. I left her to it and when she came out with the finished design, it was exactly what I hoped for. She was so sweet and so kind….it was just a great experience all around. You can create your own or even just buy the plants if you already have your own dirt and pots. Plus she told me about workshops she’s done with groups that sounded super cool. I’m hoping for a succulent wreath workshop next year before the holidays!1000% will go back. Great vibes!!”

If you order plants that need to be shipped, you know how critical the packing process is in ensuring arrival of undamaged stock. "Planting Justice" packing is superb--the best I have ever seen. No matter the excellence of your plant material, if it arrives squashed or broken, it's useless. I was so impressed with the packing job that I knew the plants would be outstanding as well. I was not disappointed. Good grafts and an abundance of live, white roots when unpotted! Cannot recommend this nursery and it's staff more highly. You won't be disappointed if you give them your business.”

“Went to The Newark Home Depot in search of blinds for the window in my house. I stumbled upon this young fellow and not knowing how things work, he showed me to the blinds section where I was taken back by the various options shown to me. He was quick and speedy ask what it was I needed done which such charm. He made the process so easy and painless, he even called a fellow worker to assist me in cutting my blinds to the exact measurement. He even boxed up my product for me. I will be searching for him next time when I need assistance. He really cared about the depot where doers get things done. And I count myself as a doers, he really showed me how to get it done. “I came to buy some wood for a project with a friend. Mind you we are women and not contractors so finding what we needed was difficult. At first it was impossible to find help- we looked soooo confused. Finally an employee named Bryant came to the rescue. He helped us figure out where the things were that we needed made sure we picked out the best wood to our liking, he was very patient and helpful. He loaded our cart and cut the wood. Our experience wasn't looking so good at first but Bryant came and totally changed the situation. Thank you so much- great job!”

“For a HD, its pretty good. You've got to know what you need, and use their app to help you find stuff in the store. When its busy its tough to find help, but that again is HD. I like this location better than Hayward or Oakland. We visit a couple of times a week for the Oakland Zoo.”
