“Children's Book World has the best selection of children's books anywhere. The staff is so welcoming. Getting up close and personal with authors and illustrators is a privilege. Watching Lisa Yee and Dan Santat banter about their latest book, The Misfits, was a treat. The first pages have me hooked. As soon as I have a cup of java in hand, I'll return to The Misfits. Thanks to Children's Book World for this (and many other) wonderful experience!”
“Mega City One is amazing!! It may not look like much from the outside, but if you love comic books like me, it has mostly EVERYTHING you are looking for to meet your regular comic book fixes!! I've been going to this store for years and they rarely let me down. The owner and JON who's runs the store are incredible and have a wealth full of knowledge. Beyond that, they will go to the extra mile to make sure that your comic book needs are fullfied and you and your needs are fully taken care of. Also, Mega City One far exceeds their closest competition, that "Rotten Apple" place down the street! Forever, for me, Comic Books have always stood for "Truth, Justice and the American Way!" When I visit Mega City One, I feel like I'm stepping into the Daily Planet where hidden greatness can be found. They are so much better than President's Lex Luther's villains lair down the street. Can't recommend Mega City One's excellent customer service enough! They will take care of you and you will NOT ever be disappointed!!”

“Great friendly customer service, my baby girl was very happy here making he birthdayr bear, super clean, enough space for other customers to shop as well without bumping into eachother. They are a little bit pricey but since baby turned 4 we only paid $4 for her bear and anything else was regular price. Luckily i had 2 $10 gift cards i had purchased from a couple other visits so i came out of pocket nothing for this visit. We will be returning next year for her 5th birthday!”
“First off, Oscar is incredible! I went this past Sunday and this was my first experience at a Warhammer store. Man, was it fantastic! I’m VERY new to Warhammer, but I have been into the lore and watching games for a little over a year. I paint minis from hobby boardgames and have been wanting to get into 40k for a while. Not only to paint, but to learn to play the game
Long story short, i bought my first combat patrol (Dark Angles), and I cannot be happier. I was nervous to go in, but was welcomed and made to feel very comfortable. I cannot wait to get further into 40k! Cannot wait to return to this store.

“This shop is definitely packed full of items, but in practice this means that they likely have what you want in stock! I found that they had several options for all the items I was looking for. I came away with everything I was looking for and more. Notably, they carry packs of disposable diapers at cheap prices, plus cloth diapers! I’ll definitely come back to purchase toys for my child or for gifts, as they carry a WIDE selection.”

“We brought our kids here to celebrate their birthday by letting them pick out what they wanted. It was such a special experience!! I loved how everything was easy to see and my kids didn't make a mess by trying to pick everything up to "discover" and if they looked at something it was easy to put back. I don't know why I liked that!! There are toys for all budgets just look around! The girl working was so nice and helpful and really likes working there so that was also nice because I was asking her about their inventory! Thanks for the awesome toys!”

“This is a HUGE toy store! So awesome. It is air conditioned inside, which was perfect on a hot day. They have a wide selection of different types of toys for all ages of babies, toddlers, kids, teens, and even adults (for example, I collect Hotwheels)! I will definitely be back. Super cool store.”

“HYA is a gem in the West Adams neighborhood of L.A. The boutique shop offers a variety of home goods, kitchen supplies (utensils, gadgets, glassware, etc.) games (backgammon, PickUpSticks) books, and more. I visited in mid-December and there were lots of great gift ideas. Prices are reasonable and the staff I interacted with (1 of which was the owner) were very friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic and passionate about HYA. Check out my pics for some great seasonal gift ideas but so many things would make a great gift for any occasion. Also of note is the thoughtful & selection process used to determine what products are available for purchase here. Research ensuring fair-trade and sustainable sourcing, as well as, offerings from underrepresented or marginalized artisans. Also, checkout the back pantry featuring small batch homemade jams!”
“This is truly a kids dream store for realistic and detailed toys. My son (and I) really enjoy the weight, feel, realism, and durability of most of the Bruder toys. I was super impressed with him knowing about a baseball player from the 90s early 2000s. This baseball players dad played in Japan and he grew up and went to grade school in Japan. I was confused on the regulation and “World Baseball Classic” eligibility and he knew EVERYTHING. I really needed it explained to me, I like to understand the rules and regulations even if I’m not a baseball player or collector. Thanks for helping me understand my retro video game and clarifying that he is in fact able to play for the world baseball classic Team Japan.”

“Five Stars Aren’t Enough! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We celebrated my daughter’s eighth birthday on Saturday, May 24th at the American Girl store in Los Angeles, and let me just say—this party was the Super Bowl of doll birthdays. We pulled up in a party bus (because why not make Barbie jealous?) and were immediately met with top-tier service and smiles that could light up a dollhouse.
Winnie, our personal shopper, was a total rockstar—imagine a fairy godmother with retail superpowers. She helped the girls each pick out their dream American Girl doll. My mother and I even purchased one for our selves! ? I got the cutest baby boy and mom, of course chose a historical doll. Winnie made each of us feel like the main character in a sparkly girl drama series!
Eddie, our server, was a food-and-fun ninja. He managed to serve the kids, the dolls, and the excited parents without breaking a sweat. Bonus points for his patience with six little giggling voices requesting refills and cake (the cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious) at the same time!
And then there was Gabrielle—our party planner and hairstylist extraordinaire. She wrangled bows, braids, and birthday magic like a pro. If party planning were an Olympic sport, she’d be on the podium, gold medal in one hand, curling iron in the other.
Everything—from the birthday cake to the party favors-were handled with care, creativity, and genuine warmth. The girls felt like VIPs and so did their dolls (who now all want a return trip, of course).
Thank you to the whole team for making our daughter’s day unforgettable. If you’re looking for a party that will blow tiny socks off (and leave you with the cutest Instagram pics ever), this is the place.”
“I didn't know there was a Puzzle Zoo on Main till last week. I used to shop a lot at the 3rd street Promenade location. This shop on Main is small, with great selection of toys, collectibles, games, puzzles. Nice customer service, street parking. Overall, a more laid back shopping vibe! A nice discovery for me while walking around in Santa Monica recently! Great resource for gifts for peeps of all ages!”

“It's an amazing, cozy place with a great atmosphere!
I went there to buy gifts for my little boys. I wanted to bring them something that's not usual in Europe. The guy in the shop was super helpful, we spent some time looking for stuff and finally ended up with a few simple and classic toys.
My boys are absolutely happy and they keep playing with those toys. Sometimes, less is more :-)
