Pet Stores in Ventura, CA

“I was looking for specific products for my doggies that many local pet shops didn’t have. I knew this place existed but never actually thought about coming in. Until I did this week and wow, I should’ve came here long time ago. This place has everything i want! I have to stop myself from buying everything. From local to small business owned products! So much variety! CBD, freeze dried treats, nutritional ingredients, frozen meats, oils, organic bathing materials. All of it is here and exactly what i’ve been looking for. This is my go to place now! Check it out! You will not be disappointed!”

“Vickie and her staff are amazing groomers who do a great job and also are very kind and patient with the pets in their care which is so very important to me. I have been going to Vickie for over 13 years now. Highly recommend Vickie’s Pampered Pets! ♥️?”

“I absolutely love my corn snake from them! Jose has always been very nice, helpful, and informative whenever I’ve interacted with him.

However, there was a lady assisting Jose who unfortunately wasn’t as pleasant, and I really didn’t like the vibe of our interaction. I’m a curious beginner in the hobby, and I honestly didn’t know that customers weren’t allowed to touch the baby snakes. There was no sign or notice indicating that, so I didn’t realize I was doing something wrong.

I completely understand having rules in place for the animals, and I’m more than happy to respect them. I just wish it had been communicated in a friendlier way.

Because of that experience, I’d honestly rather drive to Petco, PetSmart, or somewhere else in L.A. just to pick up a feeder rat than have another uncomfortable interaction. 😅

No hate toward Jose or the business. I’ve had a great experience with my corn snake. This is simply my personal experience with that particular interaction.”

“I went in to give my dog a self service bath. The store is nice and has some good quality items. The bath station was clean and easy to use. The people that work there are friendly and helpful”

“I’ve been going here for years for my bird’s food, toys, and wing & nail trimming. The staff is always knowledgeable, gentle, and clearly experienced with birds. I trust them completely with my bird and i always appreciate their professional advice. Highly recommend this shop to any bird owner.”

“My Dog, Spanky, A miniature, golden doodle, who’s not very miniature… Loves Both Tom and Carrie… I think the way they do. Their job is great. They work very hard… I know, because Spankys is very emotional as I am, And they know exactly what to say to me, and how to treat Spankys to be OK! He’s never liked getting groomed ever! Until now! Thanks, you guys!”

“Very best store in the county for your Western wear needs! Just picked up a nice Stetson white cowboy hat. Their hat master upstairs fine tuned it for me. Outstanding job!”

“Kim is an amazing and valued animal health practitioner. She provided quality of life by keeping our 14 year old Boxer Freeway mobile. At his advanced age he had arthritis and injuries to deal with and the combination of laser treatments with hands on manipulation kept him happily exploring the beach daily. Mental health and well being is as important as physical so being able to take his walks make our old boy a happy camper. Following his first treatment with Kim, he actually ran on the beach, something we hadn't seen in quite some time. Freeway LOVED being treated by her as the good energy flows freely. Kim taught me home treatments to do between visits. And she always had great suggestions on nutrition and supplements too. Our treatment times were so enjoyable and I always learned so much. Kim is a wealth of helpful and interesting information. I will cherish the relationship between Dr. Kim and Freeway. On the day we had to say goodbye to our beloved boy, she stopped by to share some love one last time. I highly recommend Dr. Kim Johnson as an extremely competent and compassionate care provider and an exceptional human. Thank you”

“This place is great!!! My dogs is little and loves interacting w the other dogs and they do a great job on his haircut!!! Hands down best place in Ventura county!”

“Michelle was very helpful with my order. I've had the power pet door for 2 years now and it works great. I have 4 dogs that travel through that door several times a day. The door opens immediately and can stay open if the dog stalls going thru. Very happy with the product. When an issue arrived they quickly helped to resolve it.”

“I enjoy this local PetCo because all of the staff are friendly and very helpful. There are several pet shops in Ventura, and I think this is the best, and so does my corgi!
See loves going there and checking up on the birds!🤗”

“I shop here frequently for my pets supplies. I enjoy checking out new products and perusing the aisles for items for my dogs, cats and birds. Each time i shop the store manager, Alex is working.
Alex is always incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient. He also went out of his way to assist me with downloading the PetSmart app so I could take advantage of available deals. It’s clear he genuinely cares about customers and making sure they have a positive experience. Excellent customer service—I really appreciate the extra help and will definitely continue shopping here! He keeps me informed of available promotions on their app to ensure I register. He also kindly offers to carry the heavy cat litter and dog food bags I purchase. Employees here are always helpful to assist me with items on lower or higher shelves as I have a difficult time squatting due to two total knee replacements. Ill keep shopping here due to their helpful and friendly staff and variety of products. I've also recently been informed by Alex that they can also ship to my home or to their location and staff will carry out to my car. Shopping made easy-I love it.”
