“I was visiting from abroad and made a special trip to Boot Star to purchase the boots of my dreams. To my delight, the whole experience was wonderful! I smile when I wear them and I tell everyone about this perfect little shop where they focus on quality and personalized service.”

“Always liked this store. On Melrose and Robertson. This one and the location in Century City are the best. I don’t mind if no one right away greets me. So what. (See so many on this post that are complaining if they don’t get anyone right away to greet them.) It gives me time first to see everything without getting bothered or smothered. I like that. They know I like my space. Been buying JV for many years. Love their boots! Especially when their heels on men’s boots were a bit higher. Have bought at the Soho location too in NYC.”

“Love love love .. they have the cutest styles for summer and staff is so friendly/helpful . I wasn't sure if my sizes and the ladies help me find the right fit. I also got my mom the cutest Daisy print bag.”

“A good place to get Hoka shoes, which were recommend to me by my orthopedist. The store was very busy, and they only had 1 sales guy to help more than 10 customers. He didn't see very knowledgeable about their shoes, but he was nice and helpful.”

“My sister-in-law works at Jenni Kayne, so I wear a lot of their clothes and shoes (in fact, I'm wearing a Jenni Kayne sweater and clogs right now). I've been consistently happy with their quality and wearability over the years. The style is also perfect for me, a 38-year-old mom who just wants attractive, well made basics. I don't usually go into Jenni Kayne stores, but I happened to find myself right next to this one on Almont and decided to take a peek. This was apparently the first store, and it was very pleasant, with a relaxing, upscale vibe. I browsed the racks and tried on some shoes that were out on the floor. The staff left me alone in a way I didn't mind. I enjoyed my browse and made a mental note of a few things to buy down the line. If you like nice sweaters and comfortable everyday shoes, definitely check out Jenni Kayne.”

“I came here with my partner and was really confused by the 10+ person line heading out the door. Not because of the poorly designed interior the size of a 4 car garage, but because the dresses are very overpriced considering they’re made with fast fashion materials, and the patterns aren’t that cute. Why are y’all trippin so hard over this brand? But otherwise, the staff was helpful to my partner and a bit dismissive of me because I was the only guy in a dress store.”

“I’m honestly surprised by some of the negative reviews, because every experience I’ve had at this H. Lorenzo location has been exceptional. Every time I’m in town, I make a point to stop by, and the staff has always been incredibly attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind. They’ve gone above and beyond—offering thoughtful styling advice and even staying past closing hours to assist me.

Athena, in particular, has been consistently warm and gracious. Despite the store’s luxury offerings, there’s never been a trace of pretension—just a welcoming, knowledgeable team who clearly love what they do. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit!”

“Lots of stuff to browse on the racks, but stock was pretty limited when I visited. Staff will check in with you maybe once or twice but are pretty hands off otherwise. They have blank tees that you can try on for sizing.”
